Does the 'spirit' you refer to come in 1 liter bottles purchased at a store with a red dot out front?

is using old bible terms for modern day activities.
im thinking about nethinem (jw's), gentiles (mormons use this).
naming your kid abraham or isaiah and the like.. add some others here.
There are two main things I use to identify "crackpot" or "high control" religions:I look for social isolation and intolerance of criticism.
I know. Those groups also seems to do the ' pull a word from the bible and assign it to some bureacratic group in the organization'. "Nethinim" instead of male secretary or admin assistant.

you know the one he dropped those rocks into then stuck his head inside and found the book of mormon?
fair enough - you can take that idea to any religion though.
Why believe in a little blue god and a a world with milky oceans
Why believe in a small carved image of an elephant god
Why believe that your ancestors walked through a sea carrying a box of gold (which they conveniantly lost)
Why believe in a nappy wearing Elohim (I mean come on!)
Why believe in lightsabers (..but wouldn't it be cool?!!!)
Why believe in a man who dies and then comes back to life before flying off into heaven
Why indeed.

The social ramifications of these punishments are intense, especially in smaller, Mormon dominated communities. Once someone is viewed as "having lost the Spirit", they are avoided except for occasional "fellowshipping" to encourage the individual to "get their life in order and return to the fold." However, if the individual begins to question the authority of the church, or the theology, "active" Mormons will avoid them, and view them as being led about by the devil.
Perhaps they're just reading from a 'different tophat' so to speak.

Irongland - I've noticed your quite vitriolic against the LDS did we wrong you in a past life - ahhh bums I can't say that - er did we wrong you in the pre-earth life..?
Nah. Im just fascinated at how people can really believe some guy dropped some rocks in a tophat and got secret messages but alas lost the stones but people still believe him. I should start my own church and have my own cathedral and harem.
So, do you know what happened to the Magical Tophat? Perhaps we could use it to decipher enemy transmissions or to understand ancient languages/
was it really so peaceful before 1914?.
the society loves to claim there was an unprecedented amount of peace prior to 1914 and that wwi was a complete shock to the world when it began.
yet history claims otherwise:.
