  l;ve been giving this some serious consideration lately.l dont have all the answers no one does.we are all entitled to our opinions.l certainly dont believe in evolution as lve researched that subject extensively.lt's important to believe in something even if its for mental health.l believe everything happens for a reason.l also believe if we all live as close to the 10 commandments as possible this world would be a far better place to live and no one can argue with that.

  so last night we get a phone call from our girl & she tells me the above.

  turns out she has been d'ed for a month.

  infact she made me turn off the speaker phone so her dad wouldn't hear & i could tell him quietly later.

  As far back as l can remember its been ok to talk to a disfellowshipped person especially family as long as its not about spiritual stuff.The shunning so often talked about on this site isnt as bad as its made out to be.

  steve2.l deliberately worded the heading the way l did to get a debate going.Your correct whether dubs are wrong has no bearing on the question of whether god exists.Vidiot nailed it when he says the WTS does such a good job inoculating its members against any other form of religious expression that they may as well be atheists when they leave.l have noticed this trend also.lts sad to think that the org has such a strong impact on people when they are indoctrinated that at the time their faith in jehovah is unshakable and upon leaving for whatever reason they do a 180 and all of a sudden dont believe in god.This is the part l dont get.How can a persons belief system change so dramatically?My point is some of these ex believers now have other beliefs so again l point out if they are wrong about the JW's belief system how can they be so sure their new belief system is correct? and so forth.lts like a merrygoround.l personally believe theres a bit of truth in all religions.With regards to the 10 commandments l should have said take the best of the commandments that can be applied in todays day and age and live by them and the world would be a better place to live in.l guess what lm really trying to say is it helps to keep an open mind as one never knows what tomorrow shall bring.

  lf you were unlucky enough to be born into the jw sect the chances are high that you became a witness.the same applies to most things in life.lf you were lucky enough to be born into a very rich family the chance is that you to will be rich.lf you were born into a third world impoverished family chances are you will suffer your entire life.my point is there is always someone worse off than you.the mere fact that your reading this means you are probably better off than roughly a third of the worlds population.a person dies every 4 seconds of hunger or hunger related causes and yet there is plenty of food available for everyone.so really its just a matter of keeping a proper prospective on things.theres a lot to be said about a pma (positive mental attitude).

  I can't take it anymore!

  my dad was recently made an elder about maybe 6 months ago, and now he is never around he's always at work or doing some kind of jw crap.

  now he conducts the watchtower study and is even doing the special talk tommorow.

  he's become an even more strict controlling jerk than he was before, and i'm never allowed to go out and do anything non jw related because he doesn't have the time.

  There seems to be many jw's marrying outside of org recently.

  l was wondering if others have noticed this or is just my imagination?my sister whom has always been a fine example of a dub just got married to an outsider was a shock to everyone as no one knew she was dating an outsider.she seems happy.the elders are to shit scared of her to approach her about the matter.

  Some interesting points have been raised.Unfortunately my sister does suffer from a duel personality and breaks out into a rage for no real obvious reason.Her new husband would not have been aware of this at the time they got married.So its a time bomb situation.Whether he can handle it when it happens l dont know.l have only met the man a few times and he seems ok.The feed back lm getting through my mother a non jw is that he can see how the religion has adversely affected my family and torn it apart.The shunning thing.All l can say is lm glad l never got baptized.lf l thought it was the truth l would have been baptized over 30 years ago but my heart and mind was telling me its not the truth dont do it.
