Do old time present day active JW`s genuinely believe in overlapping generations ?

for the life of me i can not come to terms with old timers in the "truth" who could swallow this interpretation of scripture about an overlapping generation .. when jesus spoke about "this generation" .

are their any real bible students among younger ones any more ?.

here are 3 bible scriptures that confirm a generation is approximately 40- 50 years long give or take a few years .. 1. matt:1 :17 abraham born 2016-18 bc jesus born 2 bc approx.

Their current understanding is that the anointed have to receive their final seal before the GT but they don't have to die until just before Armageddon

Jesus twice mentioned in Math 24's "all" that has to occur before the passing of the generation, that like in Noah's day, a disaster greater than the flood has to happen.

The generation, as happened in the first century is to outlive, survive the end. not pass away, die, be taken to heaven, even if "just before"

Must be quite a shock to go from being killed by the axe*** to handling those iron rods yourself. How long do you think "just before" is?

*** note that the bible specifies that to rule [ and smash] with Christ, you will not die morphine sedated in the bethel infirmary, but as a martyred martyr.

slimboyfat, : no, some are left handed, others ambidextrous, they are also in kind of a time travel, like in the grandmother paradox, they might be smashing false prophets, like their alter ego that are still on earth, must be . because Jesus specified, that the anointed generation of 1914, including the Governing Body, would not pass away, go to heaven until all, including Armageddon has occurred. Split personalities perhaps?

well, why not, Jesus after his spirit resurrection had on occasion a fleshly body too, gory wounds and all.

it could not be the anointed, because they will have to pass away, early upwardly to be in time in heaven to train and then fight at Armageddon.the most important feature of the "all"

to drive home that point, today's wt "study" had a picture*** of the early resurrected remnant swinging oversized metal ball rods to smash the nations, babies and all.

The anointed could not possibly be the generation that passes away from earth after they do that. split personalities perhaps?

Even if Armageddon comes as late as 2075, as David Splane indicated, the anointed have to be gone before the Great Tribulation starts. today's wt proves that.

My favourite: (Job 42:16) “After this Job lived for 140 years, and he saw his children and his grandchildren - four generations.” 140 divided by 4 = 35.

s3: It is interesting to note, that among the "partakers" the anointed heavies, the Brooklyn core, such a family idea of generation is absent.

Perhaps it is for this estrangement that they have chosen to make the generation of 1914 "the generation of the Anointed ones".

All these groups live concurrently anyway, and wt had the choice to pick 1) the general population, the condemned world, to die at Armageddon,

2) the [other] sheep that will never die

3) themselves, the partakers, who will join Jesus in heaven early before the GT to fight. now

Jesus said that "this generation will not pass away until all these things have occurred". so

it could not be the sheep, because they will never pass away.

A nun just died r.i.p. who was 10 years old in 1914. having no overlapping descendants either.

the overlapping group fix is the least of wt's doctrinal problems.

as a jw did you have a pioneer sister/elder's wife who was the biggest busybody, self righteous, arrogant pus in the circuit?

who would look down on others and treat people like crap.. without giving to much away, i experienced one that knew everyone in circuit.

and if she or her husband saw or heard something they didn't like it was " you know what the bible says" regardless if it was in there or not.

how could they be be judged on actions during the GT?

A real new light would be to see how wt writers correct their error, of asserting that the overlapping anointed generation will pass away to heaven that soon, at the beginning of the GT. when

Jesus is said to have said that this generation will not pass away until all these end time things, like the greater than Deluge - scale destruction aka Armageddon occur.?

sbf: right, The teaching is that once the great tribulation starts, and the GB and buddies are gone to heaven, the door of the ark will be shut. last minute, deathbed regrets will not matter.

The judgement will be based on what you did, while it mattered. It still depends whether you "took " the magazines, now, googled jworg.

These truth, or newest light wt preaches is so ironclad in their eyes, , that they are willing to disfellowship (turning over to Satan for destruction) anyone that teaches otherwise, contradicts. so,

if salvation and damnation is so closely linked to current teaching,

every change in prophetic teaching brands, confirms wt as false prophets.

If you are ready to kill for your vacillating predictions, no matter what they are,

why do you think you will not have the same judgement?

Do We Get A Clean Slate When We Die? (Watchtower View Examined)

the watchtower teaches that the opportunity to be born again and enjoy complete justification with god ended in 1935, having been limited to only 144k since pentecost.

so, it is very surprising that the watchtower embraces the death that is described in romans chapter 6, since this is the very death that is required to be born again…… which is denied to watchtower members!

romans chapter 6, verse 7 is about saying goodbye to the old personality, the “old man” in the king james version.

barrel like you) with that flat contradiction of the great teacher, the greatest man that ever lived himself.

The greatest type/ antitype hype in that prophecy is of course Jesus comparing the end (of the wt 1914 generation} to the great deluge, Noah's day.

It is not that "all the sign" only has to occur during the life of the generation, but an event even greater than the deluge, and that in destructive power will not occur again, aka Armageddon. That is the " all " Jesus was talking about. No wriggle room here. easy as shooting fish in a barrel.

PS: and why did all the babies have to pay the price for the lecherous angels, that did not die, did not pay for their sexual sins, and were able go on to kill all those pigs, those swine.

drowing, is not a nice way to die. have a barrel handy to float.
