  when i was a kid in the late sixties the type of books we would study was very intense compared to the bull shit pablum that they put out today?

  i mean the finished mystery and others now its these stupid books that don't dive deep into the beliefs.

  i don't see the point, the galaxies will enter in collision in a very long time but i don't understand why a lovely god would do this it feels stupid.

  To add, why did god at one time let huge asteroids hit earth killing just about all living things on it ? RAF.

  because "god" loves survivors, (us in this case) if you are here. it is proof your ancestors survived it all.

  He trust you or some our offspring to survive again.
  "god" uses evolution's procreation by the survivors to run the universe efficiently.long live sex.

  In the meantime enjoy lfe, whether your offspring will be here after the next one or not.

  jt yes, welcome to the forum. while some features of the universe seem strange to us, they are what they are, and best of all, carry us.

  best to adapt, to survive, we, your family have!! so far. so good. as I said,

  physicists actually teach that the merger to Milkomeda will benefit long term survivors.

  The merged galaxies called Milkomeda bsw, will have the benefit to be massive enough to resist internally and much longer the accelerated expansion of the rest of the universe, a fact that will ensure the integrity of its individual small entities, like wt believers, who, having everlasting live, need all the protection they can get. ha ha.

  Did warwick include milkomeda in it's scenario of pronisses> yet?

  The difference between the ministry examples and reality

  it seems to me that there is a world of difference between the textbook 'skits,examples on the platform' ministry and the reality of the door to door work in real life.

  surely for a bible study coming into the jw religion and having seen all these perfect examples, to be faced with the bitter truth when they do start knocking on the doors must be really jarring?.

  surely they will either conclude that they are rubbish at the ministry or that they have been lied to?.

  This exercise is to dull the members minds, reinforce their beliefs internally.

  If some creative soul adds some spice, humour, the better, it still serves wt's purpose to fill the mind with wt think to the exclusion of real live brain joy.

  What useful piece of literature have the JW produced?

  seeing on another post here about former jws throwing away literature.

  i am curious as to the various opinions on there value.. for me i have been inactive for 3 years almost 4. i still have alot of books and of course all their bibles ever produced (except a few from the 1800s.).

  in my opinion i think there are four books the jws produced that are useful:.

  Proclaimers book. page 426, I have 2 artifacts from the picture there.

  it shows the perennial teaching of the wt: millions now living will never die, they still teach it today.

  That gem was the top doctrine that gave them the 1919 gold medal to be the "faithful and discreet Slave" first a class, now a class act.

  RK: yes I agree, that is THE method to get at the core of the wt syndrome.

  It takes the bible ideas seriously, , and wt beliefs, but at the same time debunks it all.

  I suggested to you you to include the "millions now living will never die" detail, in just one sentence, in the reason that watchtower can give for the king of 1914 to have chosen them, over the vast choice available to be the F&DS. tongue in cheek of course.

  Today's wt pablum message contradicts their dictum " soon, last days" that is used internally,
