I was surprised how long they stayed so close to ground zero, in the near crosshairs of the Mutual Assured Destruction cold war situation.
i've seen a lot of posts around and about warwick and the goings on there but was curious as to people's theories on why the move to warwick?
granted there's the obvious point about all of the money from the sale of properties in brooklyn but for as massive as warwick is, the purchase of an apartment complex there, multiple sites and buildings i would be surprised if they had much left from all of the profits.
so beyond a financial incentive why move?

does anyone know of any diagrams online that show the current hierarchical structure of the watchtower compared to the previous hierarchical structures of the past.
i know they have complicated it on purpose to try to protect themselves legally from lawsuits.
i would like to try to understand their current structure compared with the past.
thanks wild thing. The keepers of the bird cage of course, the real hierarchy, are not shown.
just spent 8 hours in a 1 day elders school last weekend.
clarification given: "moving forward any elder, ms, or pioneer who themselves or someone under their roof enrolls in higher education, may no longer qualify for privileges in the congregation.
their qualifications will have to be reviewed by their boe.".
This weeks watchtower "study" par 17, trashed " higher" education as well, in favour of "pioneering, Construction, Bethel and even ,--tada: gilead training."

There was one here of the interior of a bird cage.
i know who you are; you posted, rather eloquently, on venus' thread regarding a teacher making a mistake in mathematics.. my brain is not wired to explain concepts that come to you naturally.
certainly, it is a combination of both your innate ability as well as training in a field in which you excel.
my question centers on those of us who did well in mathematics but cannot explain what we are doing.
In working through a problem, you often walk through, re-invent the steps of the original developer. If you have to talk about it in a conversation, searching for words often helps you to really understand things yourself. thank you for the Math link!
many people point to the irrationality in the depiction of god by the religions and their scriptures, hence jump into the bottomless pit of atheism.
in either camp, god is not a factor because religion is only a means that misrepresents god, hence religionists themselves are atheists (literally, those who live without god).
it is like saying there exists no earth because you found out your friend who taught earth is flat is wrong; or it is like saying mathematics itself is wrong because you found out your mathematics teacher made a mistake.
Math is a human invention. Some of it's tenets are considered fundamental truth. Einstein said (with tongue in cheek) that he would feel sorry for "the Lord" (supposed indirect generator of math) if his (Albert's) formulae, thought-experiment derived would be found to be valid. No mistakes here, but what he considered his biggest mistakes are now considered validated by experiments ( universal constant, accelerated spavetime expansion)
According to his comment, A mathematitian could be wrong, even the Creator could be wrong. mathematics could not. of course, he could have been wrong about that.
for the first time scientists have successfully reversed a naturally occurring magnetic field.
it could have multiple implications:.

The bushy one's father gave a magnet to little Albert, and the rest is history. Hope to have a erudite poster here comment on it. ( can electromagnets be reversed in polarity? )
Although the article is in NATURE mag., journalists often write short of the crucial details, and ramifications. It is known that the Earth's magnetic field has reversed several times, so be prepared re-configurate your compasses in the eternal PpP.
would they get their visa revoked?
would they be arrested?
if i remember right didn't one new guy gb go to the procedings and was there for appeal?
think about what happened to Henschel in Africa and Shoefeld in " Russia"
the noble fir.
the fir tree stands silently in the corner of our living room: proud, erect, strong.
even unadorned, it is beautiful.
I miss Oubliette.
miss inoubliable.
at one time scientists believed that living things and non-living things were made of different material, accounting for the unique properties of living things.
this idea is called vitalism and is no longer popular.
what does remain popular (in fact is still the dominant view) is a similar idea that things that experience the world (humans, frogs, mice) are different from things that don't experience the world (potatoes, rocks, snowflakes).
sbf: Saw a science piece last night ( cant find it now, ), that shows original forest's intertwined roots, and explained how trees talk to each other. I actually believe that plants experience internally a kind of euphoria, of well being, as the procreate, exhale oxygen, but to bring that down the line into the inorganic level is too much of a stretch.
