just sat through the weekly video on pride. and it is about a fictional brother that is alienating himself from the congregation by his critical attitude ( Beam in his eye, compared to the splinter in his targets) [targets supposedly the elders].

The book was a gift to me, I had shown no interest in the subject, only gave it passing attention, and I did not find the doctrinal arguments that would start to sway me later, the 'Superior Authority' reversal. Why should these people be subject to the earthly elders when they are destined to so much more? CS:
The idea was, that if you lived by wt rules to a t, you cemented your right to be in heaven. i.e. : A lady anointed being submissive to a husband, even though limited as he is, would be a good, proven candidate to excel in heaven. so: an anointed is mandated to live up to wt expectations for the role they are fixed in now, and "Jesus" is watching.

I second that, adding that in congregations where a domineering personality happens to be appointed, it can be a sick congregation.
Elders do not wear badges, proclaiming their status, as is tradition among the youthful LDS (Mormon) workers.
