  this morning my brother and my mother (whom i mentioned in my previous topic when we had a conversation about evolution) visited a jehovah's witness, and when they returned, they returned with the awake!

  magazine that they received from the witness.

  the magazine is entitled, "is the bible really from god?

  Bertrand Russell sumed up religious belief with his teapot:

  jl: It is telling that Russell (not the wt thinker), would pitch the analogy of a teapot at 1.3 AU against the possibility of a creator, that little ~.6 AU space for the perhaps 50 billion lightyears extent of the universe. (and the creator would be beyond that).

  Oddly enough there would be a theoretical opening at 1.3 AU orbit for a body, the way there is a 30 AU exception opening for Neptune in the Bode scheme of doubling planetary spacings. Russell's ruse? anyway,

  maybe i have watched too many zombie movies but i would sleep with one eye open, inquire to see what is your favored menu,do you sleep walk, are your body parts functioning properly (i would hate to shake your hand and it fall off).

  your wife never married after 10 years and now you are back, can you perform in the marriage bed?

  ?it would be hard for me to sleep at nights with someone that have been dead for over one year sleeping next to me.

  since the resurrected ones do not marry, then we must presume they would be without, navel, sex hormones and other means or need to initiate mating rituals,--then my trophy wife will be finally free from unwanted passes? but then on second thought,

  the resurrected ones will be like angels, and look what they precipitated, before the flood, a disaster even everest could not escape dry, (tears of laughter)

  This is a misunderstanding of the analogy. The analogy is there to demonstrate why one cannot make appeals to faith. It is not indicative of God's existence.

  Saename: I understood well, but wanted to bring the important point into the discussion, that in all this we always have to deal a priori with the existence and details of the universe. whether it created itself or not, . I agree with you, the bible can not be inspired, god does not intervene. But: will we have a jarring revelation?

  very well written post. wt logic seems to be designed to appeal only to simpletons, and allow only them in.

  On the odd gumball / god's influence argument, - The existence of all these gumballs argues in favour of a creator, one more or less is just icing on the cake. Schroedinger's gumballs?

  police are still investigating the cause of death.. az central, 13 may 2017. missing prescott valley 18-year-old found dead.

  hello all - so me and stuckinarut2 are at the state library proving to ourselves that wt has it all wrong re: 607. i've read at length jwfacts, jwsurvey and crisis of conscience that all go into the subject and i've just downloaded gentile times reconsidered.. while it is fabulous to have someone else compile all the research and evidence for you, it is quite another to see it in print for yourself - and so, here we are.. while we wait for our array of books i couldn't help but share with you how the state library has catalogued jewish history - 586 bc to 70 ad.

  no mention of 607 as a key date as far as the library's catalogue is concerned!!

  The fixation on the First Jewish-Roman War (66-73 C.E.) by the Jehovah's Witnesses and other Christians is so very odd to me.

  David Jay: thank you for the clarifications, post 2 was about the internal inconsistencies off the wt doctrines, anointed generation. That jws have a myopic world view is another of their foibles.

  and then there is the other destructive end of Jerusalem in 70 CE. survived by the then anointed generation that had fled to the hills. (as predicted and instructed)

  Now, wt is setting itself up for another fiasko here too, , by predicting that in the 2nd fulfillment, the anointed generation will die before the beginning of the end, contradicting Jesus' words.

  Jerusalem oh Jerusalem. no end to wt's plight with you, real, "Heavenly-" , "-Above" or "New --".
