Would you give up one year at the end of your life if you could relive any one day in the past?
by Esse quam videri inlike the question asks: if you could relive any one day of your life, any age, any place and remember everything about it afterwards, would you be willing to live one year shorter at the end of your life?
one day for one year?.
i realize that someone well on in years would think twice about it, but, what about you younger ones?

The parable's situation would be, to some degree, consistent with the picture one could have of a deist's creator, who, being eternal, is already in the eternal future, (the dimension of time) and is observing what might develop in the outworkings of creation, bound by the given laws, as the universe expands through time.
leaving all options open, anything is possible, even a change of hearts.

when you are into your late eighties, someone guaranteeing you another year is great. who knows what great experience awaits you? You might become father again! or become a witness to the next greatest scientific feat !
You already lived that great day in the past, why trade it for the potential of 365, more?

Were the apostles of the 'Anointed class' when they partook?
by why144000 inaccording to john 20:22 the apostles did not receive the holy spirit until after jesus was resurrected.
wouldn't this make them part of 'the other sheep' when they partook of the bread and wine?.

@ Cg: if "Christian" means Anointed, as with spirit, which in those days was done in spectacular fashion, (doves, flames, glossolalia), the disciples at the last supper were not Christians, or anointed.- yet.
using that criteria, it would be wrong to demand that one has to be anointed, or sealed, to be allowed to partake.

A baffling physics question
by FatFreek 2005 infor several weeks i've been treating myself to a hot chocolate milk (well, soymilk) before bedtime.
some 16 oz soymilk which i heat on high in our microwave oven.
this is just enough time where the liquid begins to bubble along the top edge.. i then take it out of the microwave and place it on my kitchen gram scale, stir it good enough to redistribute the heat, then reset the scale to zero grams.. next, i squeeze in the hershey's sytup, "special dark mildly sweet chocolate" (fat free) into the warmed soymilk till the scale reads some 30 grams.

Crazyguy, in the OP, "why144000" chose to uses this wt terminology, and he has been silent since.
when taking apart wt doctrine, it is useful to use their wording, and the bible is full of classifications,
Perhaps "why144000" in a class act , has classified himself to be sealed? our's is not to reason why, but carry on and to die.

Christian agnosticism
by tornapart ini never realised there was such a thing as 'christian agnosticism' until recently.
i've been wondering for a long time where my beliefs where at.
i still believe in god and still believe in jesus but not sure exactly what else.

Of course it is honest to admit that we do not know it all at all. that is being an a-gnostic. A Deist though, believes that there is a Creator, just not an intervening, constantly micro-managing "god".
A Christian Agnostic must accept that there was a talking snake, requiring Christ to die and compensate, not knowing is not the right word for that proposition. or?

So if the anointed are only the apostles present at the last supper, then only 11 or at most 12 were of the anointed and going to heaven? All the rest were staying on earth? blondi:
At the time of the last supper, there could have been 500 "brothers",-- believers. but, the Passover being a family affair, only 12/11 of them were present in Jesus' inner circle. obviously it was meant to expand as he mentioned in Acts 1:7 to the distant part of the Earth.
To strengthen the " you are an Earthling first before you become an anointed, take Rev 7, the 144 000 chapter. There the anointed are sealed out of the 12 tribes of Israel.
According to written wt wisdom : "the 12 tribes consistently defined as all earthly, non-anointed people" yes, believe it or not, the 12 tribes of spiritual Israel are Earthly, and out of them come the anointed.
earthly first, then partake, then become perhaps anointed.
not endorsing just reporting.
OTWO, you have to play with the card you have received, dealt, and we have those data in the bible, talking snake and all.
