interesting story i have a friend who is df but his wife still faithfully goes to meetings.

there's a single brother in the cong that is always flirting with his wife.

well at a recent meeting my df friend decided to show up to check this brother out.

The stalking, targeting of married sisters in odd situations, is a ongoing issues in congregations. The elders, that are supposedly there to protect the flock from predatory practises, fail, occupied that they are, with wt procedures.

Eli's sons are alive and well in the congregations.

PS: in my younger years, the 1940, I had a "friend " in the "world" who specialized in preying on married woman, (truly stunned pineapples) , why?. because they offered gratification without liability.

In the case of the disfellowshipped brother, this stalking (a criminal offense bsw) could be a favoured tactic, condoned or approved by the elders, to further humiliate the disfellowshipped person, .--- Clean the "clean organisation" by dirty tactics, dishonoring the family.

an atheist (never jw) friend of mine is an rv for a jw who he is trying to deprogram.

he started this totally on his own and just telling me about it.

it's quite amusing what he comes up with.. point 1: why the s & m stuff with foreskins?

may be one of the oldtimers, contemporaries of Abraham, had a foreskin restriction (imperfection taking it's toll) that kept him from full expansion, and since size matters, he was freed, even at his wife's behest for cleanliness' sakes, and the rest is history.

you simply need to wait longer until it becomes feasible.

The longer you wait, the more distant into the past, the more diluted any information gets. unless the resurrection mechanism is somehow already build into the universe from the beginning, in any case never a jw's option is very appealing.

creating the universe in the first place would be a simple, elegant process compared to setting up the machinery to isolate and retrieve the information needed and then focus it into the future to recreate, to resurrect chosen individuals.

It would have to be a very altruistic society to forgo the pleasures of their own present, forward looking lives, to present some forgotten ancestor with a return to a second presence.

Think of the efforts at CERN to recreate creation on a one-off subatomic level, --just one particle, or

the the work on abiogenesis --just one restart of microscopic size.

Unless consciousness, information can break free from the physical, a hard sell.

bohm. yes, what happens at the planck scale, and in the quantum world is uncontrollable, but perhaps we could just take an individual's data, at a given time and redo it, no matter what convoluted random processes let to that stage in the first place. and even then--

Paul did not belittle women

i note the recent post that quoted 1 timothy 2:11-12 and colossians 1:23 which place women at a level that is lower to men.

the poster accused paul of this mysoginy, but that is not correct.. 1 timothy, 2 timothy, titus, colossians, ephesians and hebrews were written after paul's death.. paul was not a mysoginist; he made full use of women in leadership roles.

he wrote that in god's sight there is neither male nor female, for all are one in god's sight.. doug.

I see the traditional family, as a protective unit to keep the flame of life glowing, the great ladies mastering the internal warmth, and the men dealing with the challenges at the periphery, protection, furnishing food, dealing in the tactics, the strategies. Bearing children is such a tremendous, fulfilling task, that it should satisfy any aspirations. imho, bsw,

I do not feel that women are not equal to men, to the contrary, they have the superior position in life, more important to our arrival, survival, the beauty charm and warmth. why any lady would feel like a failed man, is not understandable to me.

You are responsible for our arrival. why do you need to be our rival?

assumption 3.

The universe, any physical existence, is only present at any given time at that moment, on a knife edge so to speak , during it's relentless movement through time. . the knowledge, artifacts is what is carried into the future, the past existence is gone, although it leaves fossils, even the images that could be reconstructed from messages that leave earth now, the light, are only fossils. There is no reality stacked up, back to the beginning of / or in the past.

all we see is images of the past. Imagine you could have a mirror put, always at a quarter your age in light years, and beam, reflect back your doings. You could watch yourself at half your age. but you would be only only watching your fossil.

If our existence is the outworkings of laws, it would take an extraordinary, supernatural working to recreate any of it. even your brain-activity, if it could filtered out from all the electromagnetic stream that is travelling into the future.

origins aside, these are the texts that WT is working with. To my mind they are not putting women down, but help ladies to focus on activities that have served the human race well to evolve until now. Is the role of humans changing? There is an interesting science story on "why orcas have menopause" so it is not a put down, it is a put up, to their real task. imho.
