  i was under the impression that it was going to be a short war, that russia’s military would indeed subdue ukraine’s forces quickly but that is not happening.

  seems that russia’s military power is much less than it’s reputed to be.

  no guess how it will all end..

  It is a sad day when a superpower has to threaten a little country like Ukraine with nuclear annihilation (of its defences)

  Japan had suffered bigger daily losses in the fire bombings than the nukes. What also triggered Japan's surrender was the imminent threat of an Soviet occupation, with all its known horrors for the civilian population. (as compared with the benevolent US variety, as seen in Europe, 1945). ( ppsh41 bullets and boots vs, nylons and chocolate)

  Whenever there was a moral superiority of the allies vs the Central powers, it was lost in 1945.

  That is why Ukraine has that esprit de corps. it is fighting for the fate reserved for those conquered by the bear.

  We would live in a better world had England issued an ultimatum to the invaders of Poland from the east too, as by treaty, in 1939,.

  A question about the contemporary generation teaching following a conversation with a JW apologist

  i would like to ask the ex-jws on this site to put their ‘apologists hat’ back on for a moment, so that i can go through the overlapping generation teaching in an attempt to make sense of it.

  i apologise if these points have already been addressed on this site.a quick background for the reason for my request… having never confronted a jw apologist on the topic, i recently engaged with a jw regarding the official understanding of a ‘generation’ and unfortunately he didn’t have an answer to the points i was making.

  i was left a little confused as to what the official jw response would/should be.so i was hoping that my thoughts below might be considered from an apologist’s perspective.the point in question relates to this section of the watchtower article below from 2008, as well as the jw.org video explanation of the overlapping generation:---:w08 2/15[box on page 25] can we calculate the length of “this generation”?the word “generation” usually refers to people of various ages whose lives overlap during a particular time period or event.

  the Bible does not give a BCE date for the fall of Jerusalem ,it is calculated by men .
  What the Bible does say is “ Do not put your trust in nobles nor in the son of earthling man”

  It also says: "it is not given to you to understand times and seasons--" Acts 1:7, addressing the future member of the "governing body".

  Even Einstein, and follow-uppers do not understand time. (see current New Scientist)

  The program is a strange mix of having a super sized lander, fit for Mars, land on the moon (after having flown empty from Earth).

  It takes fanatical dedication to make it all work, A leaky gasket stopped the whole train. Money spend in the right place. we need more technical excellence not more and better payed welfare recipients.

  Elon Musk, has a proposal to have UN supervised elections or referendums in the Russian occupied areas of Ukraine.

  Great idea, if you first remove the Russians from that stretch of land to guarantee free choice, and

  allow all displaced person that fled or were deported to have free vote too, Gathering Ukrainian votes from Athens, Berlin Cincinnati and Vladivostok,

  Pandas or 70 virgins, would be a small but superfluous added detail.

  four regions in Ukraine, which are currently being fought for. I think they are digging in for the long haul.

  It will be very difficult to dislodge the Russian army from these conquered lands without international help on a totally different level. Like try to take a bone from a dog or grizzly, can be done. These are the resource - richest provinces, the main price catch.

  The best time to get out of that region was before the start of the overlapping generations. left to overlap in safer places. Many Millionaire families now. .

  Any news about the jws in prison forced by Wagner into the goetterdaemmerung?or On the selective rollcall targeting the JWs, or other disssidents?

  Imagine voting too, in full view, with urns transparent, and slots that prevent you from folding the ballot? knowing that the authorities get really angry at opposers? A public triage of the population. . does the count count?
