Feel sorry for David Splane though, never seen or heard him seriously attempting, or succeeding to use humour as a teaching tool. i'm noticing what seems to be a higher incidence of the above among the local jws than in the "general" (read: worldly) population.
i don't say this lightly, my wanderings around the fringes of jw society locally is revealing an alarming trend here.
the poverty doesn't help (there are good jobs, but you need a degree or qualifications to get one).. anyone else see this?

the old hymns are some real music, even if you don't agree with the "teachings".. there is no admission of poetry using archaic language at times for affect or to add to the rhyme, they have to have everything agree with the grey bible.. anyone speak foreign languages?

sir82, David Splane took some Royal Conservatory Canadian piano examens, perhaps to grade 5 in Calgary AB Canada the records show.
People with less of an background have composed worse music, to some ears. Some of the new song's melodies are not melodious , odious perhaps, but that sets the JW org[ans] mood. down and minor all the way.
What would you have down with the mess they inherited?
