  have received news of the passing of alan fuerbacher today having just turned 70 years of age.

  alan was an earlier and frequent poster on this forum and was a strident critic of wt bible chronology.

  i enjoyed the continuous debate on matters relating to 607 bce and will miss his intellectual contributions and his scholarship even though i disagreed with much of his contributions on this subject.

  a new book has just been published on judean history in the neo- babylonian period.

  the title is judah and the judeans in the neo -babylonian period by obed lipschitz joseph blenkinsopp, april, 2003. it is hardcover of over 600 pages and is published by eisengraums.

  the isbn is 1575060736 and can be purchased from amazon books.. this book is based on a colloquim of international scholars who met at a conference at the university of tel aviv, may, 2001 and discussed the above subject.

  Oslo hypothesis vs. Jonsson hypothesis

  it has been announced that two forthcoming volumes examing the secular and biblical ecidence for bible chronology are due for publication in the spring, 2003. rolf furuli a semitic language scholar provides a new approach to the many problems associated with current chronology.

  it should be interesting to see how this book will be reviewed in the scholarly literature and compare this material with jonsson's gentile times reconsidered.

  to date i am unaware of any scholarly review of the jonsson hypothesis.
