  today marks the 21st anniversary of my being disfellowshipped.. i suppose that makes me an adult apostate?

  OK, so I was wondering.....
  You know how when a couple celebrate a long-term wedding anniversary they re-marry each other in a symbolic ceremony?
  Well, what do you think of this idea:
  Go to my local Kingdom Hall and ask a Judicial Committee to meet with me so I can be redisfellowshipped!!!

  hello all, registered just to post this and see what you all had to say about this.

  i, for one, am in shock.

  it was anounced today on "extra" and they said we would soon see a change in his music because he was "marrying his music to his religion.

  SixOfNine, I'm glad you caught the joke.
  Officially, the website http://www.prince.org/ has this to say about the artist's sexuality:

  If one gives the matter some serious thought, though, the vast majority of his work is unmistakably about heterosexual relationships (except where he plays with double meaning), and there have been no sightings of him with another man.   The man obviously doesn't mind if people think he's bisexual, and it's possible he is or was, but he's very much in the closet about it if so. Even if he's perfectly straight, his lyrics indicate that he would welcome any sexual orientation into the utopian "Uptown." Most fans tend to believe he's simply androgynous: displaying characteristics of both genders.

  Could it be that the JW's are being placed in a state of hypersuggestibility at the assemblies? What's next? Pioneers being instructed to carry pocket watches?

  Most Hypocritical Act Witnessed As A JW

  what was the most hypocritical act you personally witnessed during your incarceration as a jw?.

  hypocritical acts you witnessed being performed by those claiming to be of the anointed are most especially welcome to be posted.. the person who posts the most hypocritical act will receive the complete box set of the bethel family sing the kingdom melodies vols 1 - 10 complete as first prize.. the runner up will receive two box sets.. i'll start off.. the most hypocritical thing i ever witnessed was the (married) co who ran off with the (single) special pioneer immediately after giving a talk at the district convention on "jehovahs gift of marriage".. sister special had the suitcases packed and the motor running out in the parking lot (located directly behind the platform) as co spiritual giant wrapped up his talk.

  he finishes the talk then leaves the platform for the getaway car to a tumultuos round of applause from the massive crowd.. both last sighted somewhere slightly up ahead of a fading into the distance cloud of dust.. goo

  Then my spiritual world caved in. I was still faithfully doing street work, when one day a man approached me seeming very interested in my message. During the course of our conversation, I invited him to start a Bible study, to which he quickly agreed. Excitedly, I asked for his address, whereupon he told me "Wernersville State Hospital", which was a nearby mental institution. As it turned out, he was a long-term patient there, having lived on the ward over twenty years. Nevertheless, I approached another brother (as yet unbaptized) in the congregation and asked him if he would care to join me for a Bible study there, to which he enthusiastically agreed. Little by little, other long-term patients on the ward joined in our study, and it made my heart glad that I could offer hope to these seemingly hopeless and abandoned people. Eventually, I approached the manager of the ward and requested day passes, two at a time, for the patients, to take them to Sunday meetings at the Kingdom Hall, which were granted. The gentleman I had originally studied with came with me every time, but he had one serious idiosyncrasy: He had a loud, bellowing laugh, and always laughed at inappropriate times during the Sunday talks, which would send the congregation into hysterics. After several weeks, one Sunday I was surrounded by elders who asked why I was bringing these people with me to the Kingdom Hall. Astonished, I stated that these people needed to be saved most of all, to which the reply from the elders retorted "Yes, but they cannot understand our doctrines". I asked if that would exclude them from ever being able to become Jehovah's Witnesses, therefore condemning them to die at Armageddon, to which I was icily told "Yes". It was at this point which I began to question my beliefs.
