Does having priveleges in the congregation mean you will have a successful marriage?

after reading about tight pant tony's rant about sisters only marrying ministerial servants lest their marriage will be a failure what anecdotal evidence do you have to support this.

the divorces that i am familiar with in the congregation show me that having priveledges in the congregation do not improve the odds of a better marriage.

i would say about 60% of the divorces had at least one spouse who was a pioneer, elder or ministerial servant.

How would that work if every brother in the cong was a MS or elder? Would the next step be additional levels of rank like 'Senior MS' - almost an elder. 'Junior MS' - just appointed (Ok to marry but might want to wait). What about the guys that are perpetual MS class - Not deemed worthy enough to move up to the next caste level? Soon it will be only marry elders and then the next step will be, elders can have multiple wives since not enough men are 'spiritual enough'.

And then they merge with the Mormons.

Perhaps we could all send some socks to AMIII this XMAS. Wouldn't that be funny to see the faces of the bethelites working the mail department as they opened package after package of inappropriate socks addressed to his majesty AMIII? Of course, rather than donating them to some organization for homeless people. they would just burn them. Just a thought.

The kingdum songs. Imagine no other music. Sure, you could have piano only versions, orchestral versions, choir versions, bongo versions, etc. But in the end, you would want to kill yourself. But what if you did, and it was like the Bill Murray movie Groundhog Day, where no matter what you did you got resurrected back to more of the same and you knew you were going to have to attend another meeting?

out of the blue, my wife told me that after this week's service meeting on friday (co visit) she is not going to anymore meetings during the week at night.

only sunday (am) meetings.

she explained that it is difficult and not safe for her to drive after dark (vision issues: i have the same problem so i couldn't help her if i wanted to).

Thanks for all the suggestions. She will be out of town next Friday (this Friday is CO visit) so it will be 2 weeks before we begin to see how this plays out. On a serious note, she picked me up from the train station tonight and to be honest, I wasn't sure we were going to make it home. She has no business being on the road after dark! I have heard that there are glasses that we can buy that help with night vision but they are expensive. Anyone have any first hand knowledge about this?

There have been times recently where she missed all meetings for a couple of weeks but the guilt factor kicked in and off she went. That is going to be the biggest challenge in my opinion.

Good point Talesin. I just assumed that is what she likes to do. I don't generally watch tv, but I would if she really wanted to (bottle of wine would help admittedly). Perhaps, she only watches tv though because of nothing better to do (Ok, I accept the fact that I am not the most exciting guy in the world). She is usually ready to socialize even with 'worldly' neighbors and relatives. Maybe I should setup more get togethers on Friday nights.

The more I think about think about this, the more I am beginning to wonder if we are even compatible. The funny thing is, she would be much better off not being a witness. Probably not just with me. I thinks she just tolerates me because she has to as a good witness wife.

Great suggestions so far. She loves having her feet massaged. The taxi option is out of the question. We are not even in the territory. Normally, she is the taxi driver for a couple of 'friends' on her way to the hall. As a counterpoint, I am wondering about some of the same questions undercover brought up. Maybe something else is going on at the hall. I haven't been in some time, so who knows. I do bite my lip and avoid any conversation about stuff JW, even recent abuse cases in the news.

I do feel that she is maybe 50% of the way there. Perhaps some push from the KH will help her get that first leg up over the fence. She came home tonight (CO visit started this week) and seemed pretty down. Should I ask her if everything is ok or just go about my business? We have been kind of disconnected recently (polite but strained). I want more than that. Selfish? I don't think so.....

Out of the blue, my wife told me that after this week's service meeting on Friday (Co visit) she is not going to anymore meetings during the week at night. Only Sunday (AM) meetings. She explained that it is difficult and not safe for her to drive after dark (vision issues: I have the same problem so I couldn't help her if I wanted to). Of course, I agreed that would be the prudent thing to do.

I think the more meetings she misses, she will start to realize they are not really that useful anyway. My question is: how should I take advantage of this windfall before it gets light again? Buy some wine and rent her favorite movies to make Friday 'our night'? Obviously, we can't go anywhere because we can't drive.

Suggestions are welcome.

Trumpet blasts in Revelation = published notices from Cedar point Ohio conventions? How could we ever have believed that (or kinda pretended that we did)?

In erecting the pyramid, of course, Satan would put in some truth, because that is his method of practicing fraud and deceit.

Satan is a wily Foe. He resorts to all manner of schemes to draw men away from Jehovah and his service. One of the most subtle schemes Satan has yet adopted to accomplish that purpose has been and is the use of the pyramid of Gizeh. There are those who rely upon the pyramid who claim to be of Christ and his followers. We now wonder why we ever believed in or devoted any time to the study of the pyramid of Gizeh. Not only will we abandon such a study now, but we will ask God to forgive us for wasting the time that we put in on it and redeem the time by hurrying on to obey his commandments.
