Dark - I don't buy 300 DFed people turned up and were given badges at the Liverpool convention.
I buy that security may have been more rigorously applied at the venue than elsewhere but 300 DFed ones? Really?
that's what i've been told by a family member (elder) who went to one of the regional conventions in the north of the u.k lately, who told me the 300 or more disfellowshipped who returned to jehovah by attending show that the end is so close, just like the final talk says..

Didn't happen in Brighton to me, my family and a number of others I know who did not have badges. Not even asked about it.
How long would it take to process 300 "visitors" in the manner suggested?
Just out of interest, does anyone know the attendance at Liverpool?

I haven't worn a badge for years, including this one and even with all the bag checks, tags and so called security no one mentioned it.
I don't believe they even would have 300 lapel badges on hand to give to randoms turning up. I don't buy it at all even if the brothers at Liverpool were more vigilant than elsewhere given the Manchester arena tragedy.

No way did 300 currently DFed people turn up at a single RC. No way have 300 people been reinstated in one district in one year. Both ways of looking at it give you unprecedented numbers.
If there were 300 currently DFed people attending across all the RCs in the UK this summer I'd raise an eyebrow.
just got done clicking streets signs, store fronts, vehicles, mountains, and roads capcha squares.
and yes, i clicked what was requested.
each time i login i get one or two more capcha challenges added to the number.. isn't there a better way to login?.
It's bad enough some of the WT apologists getting in here let alone spammers. Captcha is fine until our man gives up some more of his time to push things forward again.
Thanks for your work Simon.

introduction to main article.
Very interesting. Thanks for the informative post Barbara et al.
I've always found the "personal contact" argument to be flawed given that not all can be reached physically. Of course the indoctrinated dub has a response which is the ago old "God will judge, he can makes the stones speak" type argument. Nowadays the web site is trotted out as the answer to the poor reach of the personal ministry. It begs the question why Jehovah does not simply do this anyway? Spending all this time failing to meet people when he could make the message clear to all is a crazy way of accomplishing the job of getting a life saving message out.
was just thinking about the practice in wt (and i believe some other religions as well) to call your fellow female (baptized) jw a sister, a brother if it is a man.
children call older people aunt or uncle.
so, at home, i can call my wife by her first name etc.
Yes Pale. It would be rare to hear two people in normal conversation, even in the hall, refer to each other as brother/sister. First names would be the rule.

Err.... not sure I agree it's strange in the U.K. Pale... As a child we always called adult witnesses aunt and uncle. Men are brothers and women are sisters. A married brother would called his wife sister in circumstances like calling on her for an answer.
In conversation in the hall for example we would not use formal terms. Is that what you mean?
