So David Cameron could avoid pissing away votes to UKIP at the last general election.

One Thing I Don't Get About Brexit
by JW_Rogue inhow did such a weighty decision get put directly in the hands on the average citizen?
and with only a simple majority required?
in the usa the biggest thing that people vote on directly is city building projects or infrastructure.

Oh no Dan 2.44 is being fulfilled. My ex told me so it must be true.
by KateWild inso my 14 yr old son and i are sitting discussing the eu election vote, and joking around that the we could see a future with donald trump and boris johnson being the uk and us leaders.
we were swapping pictures and jokes from facebook.. but his dad is sitting there waiting until we leave, and comes out with "well daniel 2.44" which reads.......... "and in the days of those kings the god of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be brought to ruin.
and the kingdom itself will not be passed onto any other people.

Haha! I expect all of us would testify that Witnesses have been attaching speculative significance to local and global events as long as we can remember. I expect we've all done when we were mentally in as well. I remember when I was in my early twenties and seeing the first Gulf War thinking it could be the beginning of the end for example.
This is no different. It's all been talk about feet, toes of clay and iron. We must be at the scum on the end of a very scabby set of piggies by now!
As you say Kate - all these events but zero evidence of God's Kingdom of doing anything whatsoever.

Mark Sanderson Talk re Belgium visit
by Listener inthe degradation of the governing body members continues on.
mark sanderson gives a talk regarding his visit to belgium for the memorial this year and was travelling from korea to munich to brussels, belgium on the day of the belgium terrorist attacks.he cannot wipe the smirk on his face as he relates his experience, with no regard whatsoever of all those unfortunately affected by the attacks.
in fact, he personally found god's hand affecting him personally, allowing him to attend the memorial as planned and a kh dedication.he is that privileged during his flight travels that internet was available to him, enabling him to catch up on current news and to contact branch's.

Nobody at work knows what JWs believe
by Athanasius inrecently susie, one of my co-workers mentioned that her husband's family were all jws.
the family converted after susie's husband left home, so he never joined the jws, nor does he intend to.
anyway another co-worker asked her: "what do the jws believe?".

As Wizzstick says, the world wide preaching work is the most ineffectual sales and marketing campaign ever.

No! No! No! This can't be true? brexit? No!
by purrpurr init seems britain has voted to leave the eu in a move of total madness!
the markets are already in free fall and the moronic bigots who campaigned for this are celebrating the demise of our country .. i can't see how a 49-51% split can be democratic?
there is still the postal vote to come in, maybe there's hope in that?

Farage was crowing his triumphant victory speech before the result was certain as if he had an overwhelming majority.
He was then back tracking on the NHS commitment within a few hours of the count being over.
He is a ****.

They should have allowed 16 & 17 year olds to vote and capped the upper age limit to 55 so the result would have reflected the will of the people who actually are going to have to live with the consequences.

Dear Blondie. I have no gripe against the copyright holder and her efforts and I do actually know what it takes to write a book (over 700 pages btw) and get it published because I did it over 10 years ago. I am supportive of the efforts and work it takes to get this sort of thing done, especially given the voluntary nature of the task. I also do not like to see the work undermined by the continued availability of CoC through unofficial sources.
Having said that, I know there was a large amount of goodwill in places like here to support the CRH in her work and get the book out and available as quickly as possible. To the best of my knowledge little of that help has been accepted and it has taken a long time to get even to where we are now which is still rough draft.
My gut feel, on that basis, is that we shall still be waiting for CoC to be properly released into next year. I also think the continued lead time undermines the relevance and import of Ray Franz's work.
I accept that my response could reflect a little more positivity however I am underwhelmed and the link to the update was put on a discussion forum. Implying that only those that have written a book about their JW experiences and published it have a right to express an opinion is a distraction. Regardless of the work being done by the CRH to do all the copyright due diligence, check the manuscript etc., the book was already there. It was already written (albeit with some updates to be sorted as I understand it) and this exercise is about getting it back out into the hands of truth seekers through an official route.
I do wish the CPH my best and look forward to hearing more progress as soon as possible.

How will BREXIT affect Watchtower's interpretation of Daniel's prophecies?
by truthseeker innow that the uk has voted to leave the eu i wonder how this will impact watchtower's thinking about the end times prophecies in daniel and revelation?.
will trump win the presidency, and if so, will he and whoever is in charge of the uk form a new anglo-american power?

Who cares. There'll be a video about cuddling your resurrected brother/sister/father/mother/son/daughter in a lush meadow surround by smiling models in cheesecloth smocks along any minute.
Cue the nodding dog choir.
