I don't need a college degree.
I have a WT Masters from reading Awake! magazine for 20 years.

i don't anticipate seeing this article, or its supporting data, referenced in any wt publications anytime soon.... ....................................... http://www.nytimes.com/2013/02/20/business/college-degree-required-by-increasing-number-of-companies.html?hpw&_r=0.
a few excerpts:.
the college degree is becoming the new high school diploma: the new minimum requirement, albeit an expensive one, for getting even the lowest-level job.. like other employers across the country, the firm hires only people with a bachelors degree, even for jobs that do not require college-level skills.
I don't need a college degree.

i recently read an interesting thread (is there a 'third' way to leave?
) that talked about fading instead of being df'd or da'd.
i myself had planned to fade, but was df'd instead.
FOI also demands that old records are destroyed when there is no longer a valid reason to keep them.
If the WTBTS or local cong have records of you and you have DA'd, you can request they destroy those records they have of you since they no longer have good reason to keep them, and the information may also be out of date.
Basically they need your permission to keep those records.

In the UK, like Cantleave mentioned, there is Freedom of Information (FOI).
The publishers are asked every year to sign a sheet saying they comply with having information about them stored.
Legally you can apply to see this information (max admin cost of £10).
Knowing the way the congregations work, you could likely end up with some but not all of the information they have.
If I was going down this route I would have the letter sent from a solicitor, to add gravitas to the fact they should not all of a sudden decide to destroy or withold any information.

re: proper handling of nested magazines.
dear brothers:.
Oops, my WT college education is showing here.
I should have said 88.5 Million copies per month, x 16 pages = 1.4 Billion pages per month.

i guess the concept of trinity is not illogical at all... .
trinity = three person as triune god (3 person that is the same/equal in one office).
gb = 8 persons that form an organisation that is bigger than christ & god, worshipped by the jws.
They are an Octinity.

re: proper handling of nested magazines.
dear brothers:.
From the WTBTS point of view it's a really good move.
The presses hardly needed to be changed at all - just don't apply glue between the two copies, then think of the savings!
Awake! has 43.5 million copies per month
Public WT has 45 million copies per month
So they are now printing 98.5 million magazines per month, all of which are half sized.
98.5 million x 16 pages = 1.5 Billion pages!
By nesting these two magazines they are saving printing 1.5 Billion pages per month!!!!
And I bet no-one has changed their donations to Worldwide Work to reflect this.

Since it's Jesus who will do the executing, that's down to him to decide.

once baptised, apart from death there are really just two ways to leave the congregation: df or da.. but notice this quote:.
"does he really desire to disassociate himself, or does he simply no longer want to associate actively with the congregation?".
- shepherd the flock of god (2010) p. 111. .
For completeness, under the section "Implications of Disassociation" (p.111) it says:
Making known a firm decision to be known no longer as one of Jehovah's Witnesses.
If the individual is agreeable, the committee should first try to speak with him and provide spiritual assistance. (GaL 6:1) Does he really desire to disassociate himself, or does he simply no longer want to associate actively with the congregation? Is the desire to disassociate prompted by doubts or discouragement? If he is adamant in his position, he should be encouraged to put his request in writing and sign it. If he does not, then the witnesses to his request should prepare a statement for the confidential files and sign it.
To me this is saying that if he is adamant in his position to disassociate he should be encouraged to put his request in writing, since the previous sentence talks about his desire to disassociate.
The whole section is speaking of how to handle disassociation, with a mention of an alternative - simply no longer associating with the congregation.

Does this mean you can simply 'no longer associate actively'?, thus retaining contact with your family and friends?
Is this recognising the Fade?

former jehovah's elder on sex assault charge .
a former jehovah's witness elder who apologised to his alleged victim on facebook has been charged with two counts of indecent assault.
richard hill will appear in the heidelberg magistrate's court on march 1 over allegations that he sexually assaulted a six-year-old girl in 1981.. the victim, now 38, told fairfax media that mr hill did everything except penetrate her - ''he tried, but couldn't manage''.. she said she ''did not realise the gravity'' of what had happened until she was about 14.. at that point she told her mother, who could not act because of a jehovah's witness rule that allegations of sexual abuse would only be acted on if two elders witnessed it, she said.. much later, the victim confronted mr hill on facebook.
Cedars, it's a shame you don't have a streetview pic of the local k.hall there, that would add some impact.
Good article as always.
