because 607+70 is 537, when israelis returned to their land.
i presented all the evidence about 586/87.
You could go in circles with a JW about 1914. Two questions though...
1) Did what JW's expect to happen in 1914 actually happen? Nope.
2) Did their changed understanding about "the generation of 1914" happen? Nope.
So why should you believe their "invisible king" rap and the new understanding about the generation of 1914 crap (cira 1995)?
there are people that can only function in conflict.
they do thier best work when there is chaos.
some of these leaders accomplish great things for thier nations, some only bring despair.
I do not discount the probable need to take action against a dictator like Sudam, I just question if a Warmonger and person who seeks chaos and conflict can be the leader we need to see us clearly through this situation.

recently my brother, sister, and i talked for the first time about how we survived the meetings when we were kids.
i loved hearing their stories.. i had a whole imaginary world i went into.
once the songs were over and the talk started, i would focus on the speaker to look like i was listening and then zone out.
My sister and I used to write notes back and forth on the margins of our Watchtowers.
Not one woman in my copy of the WT was left without a mustache or beard.

speaking with those who are df'd or da'd would you, could you, begin associating with your jw family and friends?
not that i believe they will, but i was thinking "what if" they did.
i wonder if one's jw family realizes how much damage is done to a relationship when they choose their "religion" over their family?
If anything, they are reminding people to stay apart.
I wasn't so much interested in knowing if the Society will change the rules (BTW, I don't think they will) but rather wondering if you would again associate with JW family members and friends IF the Society did.

I guess each circumstance is differnt but I'm not certain that I could. I've seen so many people Df'd over the years and in many cases the JW famly members "skirt" the rules and still associate with their Df'd family member. However, in other cases (as in mine) JW family members go even beyond what the Society has written. One almost begins to wonder if being Df'd just brought out the true colors of certain people.
In any case, could you picture yourself picking up where you left off with your JW family & friends? Were they just "following orders"?
let me start by saying that i deplore much of the teachings of the watchtower and am convinced that it is not "the truth.
" either through ignorance, error or deliberate action they have caused great heartache for thousands and unknown heartache for millions.
i have thoroughly disconnected myself from their teachings and would rightly speak out against what i know to be harmful in that organization.
do ex-JWs sometimes go "overboard" in their criticisms of the Society? Are ALL derogretory comments of the JWs to be taken seriously? Is there NOTHING good about the organization or it's teachings?
Of course the JW and their teachings aren't 100% bad. But that could be said about anything. Were the Nazi of WWII 100% bad? Nope. They did build an impressive highway system, they pulled Germany from an economic depression ummm...not much else good. I'm not saying that the JW's are as bad as the Nazis but the more I think about it, it's only because they don't have the means to.

To each his own, I guess. Many people here came before a judicial commitee because of some very private matters. If it wouldn't bother you that anyone in the Hall could, with a little bit of intelligence, access your files, hey, more power to you.
Personally, my being Da'd wasn't a big deal. Like I said before, I didn't loose any sleep over them having notes on it. However, it did bug me a little that these so-called "private" notes and files aren't very private. I can only imagine if someone, because of being under duress, shared with these men some very private information that they would be bothered by this, esp. after leaving the JW's.
im not sure if i was married to a psycho or not and am wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience with their ex.
weve been divorced for 2-1/2 years and have had our ups and downs.
because shes a diehard jw and doesnt have grounds to get re-married i get an ear full from her blah...blah.. anyway, one minute shes like "its terrible that i have to wait for you to get married before i can" and then this past weekend she calls me to talk.
and she said, "Mother, I don't want to here that, I already know!!!!!!!!!" She gets real embarrassed and I try to be cool and not to pushy, but she just stays pissed off here lately.
"I know" are probably the two most common words she says to me!
It's also funny in the morning when I get her clothes out before school. I'll wake her up and tell her that I have clothes out for her on her dresser. I'll leave her room, closing the door behind me. I'll go to the kitchen, make breakfest, etc and who do I see a few minutes later? Hannah coming down the hallway with something completely differnt on. I don't even say a word. lol.
