  So, this is taking the control back.

  That's what it's all about. It's showing these boneheads that we aren't "sheep" anymore, that the little bit of control that they try to excercise over us isn't going to fly. If more Jws (on their way out) & Ex-Jws did this, I believe the elders and Society would think twice before screwing with someone's life. Hell, life is hard enough without a group of men harrassing you.

  Regarding Roman's comments about notes also being located at Brooklyn, these aren't notes but rather a form only stating that "so & so" was df'd or da'd.

  Good luck Vivamus! As much as I wanted to be a smarta** toward him, I found the "business" approach worked best (i.e. "If you can't help me, then I'd like to speak to your manager). Taking the time to actually write a letter to the Society, now know as the "Christain Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses", shows the local PO and other elders that your serious. One bit of advice. During my initial call to the PO I requested that he not discuss this matter with the other elders. Then, in my follow up letter to the Society I again asked that any correspondence not be to the entire elder body but rather only to the local PO. I feel that this may have put more pressure on him to just say "fine, here, I'll do what you want, just leave me alone." I believe when he said "we" have decided to destroy your file, he was probably referring to his contact with the Society on this matter. Anyway, good luck!

  New Hobby turns out to be great recovery

  the other nite , i was sitting listening to old music , and decided while i was listening, to go thru a box of photos i had under the desk.

  these pictures are from many years to current , just not put in albums yet.. i decided , since i was feeling a little upset about something dealing with my oldest son, to dig up his baby pictures and when he was a kid.

  as i was listening to the music and looking at these pics the flood gates of a mothers tears from her heart came pouring out, they hurt and they felt good at the same time.

  Wow, what a powerful post. The other night I was looking at my son, wondering what kind of man he's going to be. Then I realized he's already almost there. He's "only" 12 but his voice is changing, he's big and has a mind of his own. In a couple of years he'll probably be bigger and faster then me. Just wondering what it will be like to "loose" that little boy? What's it like to be a parent and seeing you kids no longer playing around the neighborhood but instead are driving across town to be with their friends or leaving for college or starting a family of their own?

  Got my judicial notes & file destroyed

  does it bug you that there are notes about you stuck somewhere in a kingdom hall file cabinet?

  i cant say that its kept me up at night, but it does bother me that there are notes from my judicial hearing (and a file) that i cant access but just about anyone with a little bit of nerve can.

  anyway, i decided to call the po from the last congregation i was in and request that these notes be destroyed.

  Looking at it from their standpoint, and as that PO said, they keep a file mainly in case you do decide to return.

  That's what leads me to believe even more so that they did indeed destroy my file. My observation has been that most people who are Df'd or Da'd don't do things that are 180 degrees opposite of the WT's rules. How many ex-JW's vote, go to a differnt church, etc.? Because my ex and my kids still go to the same Hall as this PO knows that there isn't any chance in hell that I'm coming back. He knows I attend a differnt church, I vote and am active in differnt political campaigns, coach at the local YMCA and have made a whole new set of friends.

  Again, I wouldn't have lost any sleep over this but I did find it surprising that they would honor my request.

  i cant say that its kept me up at night, but it does bother me that there are notes from my judicial hearing (and a file) that i cant access but just about anyone with a little bit of nerve can.

  Are all women psychos?

  im not sure if i was married to a psycho or not and am wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience with their ex.

  weve been divorced for 2-1/2 years and have had our ups and downs.

  because shes a diehard jw and doesnt have grounds to get re-married i get an ear full from her blah...blah.. anyway, one minute shes like "its terrible that i have to wait for you to get married before i can" and then this past weekend she calls me to talk.

  And my 11 year old daughter is well on her way to following in her mother's psycho footsteps

  LOL! So is my 9-year old daughter! All of a sudden this "attitude" just appeared. Totally caught me off guard. Where the heck did that come from??? When my son gets out of line a good "KNOCK IT OFF!!" gets him back on track. But not anymore with my daughter. I think she already believes men are dumb as rocks. Just last night the three of us were watching a movie when suddenly one of the female actors says something about missing her period. I jump up and scramble for the remote while my daughter blurts out "How could she loose a period?" My 12-year old son just cracks up. Obviously she begins to realize that this "period thing" isn't the same thing she learned about in Writing class. So she asks "what's a period?" I'm "uh...oh...uh...well, once a month,,,um a woman....um..." Now my son is rolling on the floor laughing. Then my daughter just rolls her eyes back, sighs and says "I'll just ask mom."

  But you have absolutely no proof that this has happened.
  Personally, I wish someone would sue for their file.

  There are a few reasons why I believe him. One, he didn't have to say "yes". He simply could have said "no, they belong to us." End of discussion. Those notes aren't mine, I didn't take them, the other elders did. Secondly, I've known this elder for 20 years. He basically groomed me from pioneer to ms to elder. Anyway, when the "shi* hit the fan" (me leaving the "troof") the two of us never bs'd each other. There's no reason for him to bs me now. Could he be? I suppose but if the lack of cars in the kingdom hall parking lot are any indication, he (and the other elders) have bigger problems to worry about.

  What actually surprised me the most was the Society's letter placing all responsibility on the local PO.

Anyway, I decided to call the PO from the last congregation I was in and request that these notes be destroyed. I really didnt expect him to say "no problem." Just as I thought, he went on about Society procedure."what if you decided to come back..blah blah blah". So I wrote the Society, requesting the same thing and copied the local PO. A couple of weeks later I received a letter from the Society. Nothing lengthy, basically a three sentence letter saying that they were confident that the local PO would handle this matter is a fine way. So I try calling the PO but hes out of town on vacation. I finally get a hold him, just yesterday, refreshed his memory about my request. Again expecting a "no, I cant because ofblah blah blah" I was instead surprised when he said "we (Im assuming him and the other elders, unless hes completely lost his mind) have decided to destroy your file". To say the least, I was stunned. I was expecting at least some type of argument.

  Has anyone else requested that their judicial hearing notes be destroyed? BTW, I did follow up with a letter to the PO confirming our phone conversation and thanking him for his time.
