Oh wow, this is weird. Just last night I got out of bed to use the washroom. Walking to the bathroom, wiping the sleep from my eyes I hear the toilet flush. I was like "hey, who's in the bathroom?" The door was closed but the light was on so I opened the door and there is this big old demon sitting on the toilet reading MY Sunday newspaper! How rude! And to top it off, he starts yelling at me about giving him a little privacy. I was like "whatever" and went an used the other bathroom. Wow, did he stick up the house. Now I know the real reason why Satan and his demons were cast out of heaven.

She is dying
by Vivamus ini have never felt more helpless in my life.
my grandma is sick, dying, and there is nothing i can do.
when i look at her, i see this echo of a woman that once was vital, strong and alive.

by mamashel ini have only posted a few times so far, and i dont want to sound like a constant complainer or whiner, but i really need someone to talk to and some feed back.
we used to go to the elders with problems, and i have turned and leaned on you all now.
first i would like to thank you all for your kind and caring feedback.. my daughter has broken my heart.

Just wondering how she has time to go out when she has one son to take care of and another one on the way? I might sound harsh but she needs to realize that mom and dad aren't going to be there to clean up her messes anymore. Living under your roof, no matter how old she is, she has to abide by your rules. No need to argue. No need to fight. No need to drive here away. Simply put, "we love you but these are the rules of the house. You've made some poor decisions recently but we have confidence that you can take responsibility for your actions and we'll help when and where appropriate ."

WT, Ya I know how that is going up against teams in other divisions. The town my kids and I are in has a population of about 5,000 and last year we played against teams from towns about the same size. We went 9-0 and won the championship. This year we're in a new division going against much bigger towns and it's tough. We're 2-3 but each game has been close. Isn't coaching your son a blast??!!
Hey Eyes, yup, I know what you mean about the joy of seeing our kids doing what we couldn't. I played a few sports here and there as a kid but would have given my left arm to play football each and every year (let alone have a father who coached). My daughter is dying to be a cheerleader (besides wanting to be a cheerleader) but mom is drawing the line. Be sooooo thankful that you and WT left together. Sounds like you two have a great thing going. Keep it going!! :)
Cute as a button Roy, just like his daddy
Awww...Xena, you're making be blush. You have no idea how much I needed to hear that. :) -

Its my opinion that when one leaves the JWs they do go through a period of turmoil, especially if they were raised a witness. I know I did. Learning that youve been basically lied to and have also devoted so much time to an institution whos main concern is to control as many people as possible is overwhelming. Thats why it is critical to get involved with other pursuits. First, it will keep one from spiraling down a pit of self-pity. Two, it will help reinforce the fact that the WatchTower Society (along with all its cronies) are not Gods representatives but rather just businessmen who are peddling their publications.
Personally, I got involved with volunteering at the local YMCA, coaching my sons football team and started attending a local church with my children (after a long searchfor a new church not new kids,,lol). Anyway, just becoming friends with good, honest people who are not JWs goes such a long way is leaving the WatchTower mindset behind. Im lucky to have met people like that here at work and in my neighborhood.
I have to chuckle because as Im typing this I honestly cant remember if it was two or three years ago that I was DAd. Its just not important anymore. I guess thats what you and your family will need to decide, whats important to all of you. And one final thing. No matter what others say, boards likes this one are a good thing. Youll come across so many ex-JWs who are going through similar trials and experiences that youll be amazed how much company and support you have.

I dont believe I met Tim and David, Titus was enough! He had this chip on his shoulder, walking around the Kingdom Hall construction site with his chest puffed out. Seem like most of the "brothers" on the regional building committee had an attitude problem. Funny thing about Titus is what he does for work. I believe he was a window washer or something.
So what ever happened to Mark & Julie? Oh, did you happen to know Mark Opperman (sp?). He was another buddy of Marks that worked for my father. He was a great guy.
RadenmacherIm not sure if the spelling is right. Him and his wife have to be in their late 70s by now. Nice couple. Use to be rich but go ripped off by another JW. Long story.
