Are witnesses even trying anymore?
by megaboy inhavent had an encounter with a witness in a while, almost 10 years, though at this point i could run circles around them in the scriptures, this encounter was very strange.
was eating with my son at a coffee shop, guy comes up using it as an opening.
i'm use to this because people find my son beautiful so i was open to him.

Is It Wrong to Change Religions?
w59 5/15 305-307 (bold mine):CHANCES are you did not choose the religion you profess but you inherited it from your parents. Comparatively few persons actually make their own choice of a form of worship. Most stay with the religion in which they were reared, very often being afraid to make a change even if dissatisfied. This is particularly so in communities that are predominantly of one religion. The person who makes a change may become the object of popular hatred and be deprived of the means of earning a livelihood.
But what should a person do when he becomes convinced that the religion he inherited is the wrong form of worship, that its teachings are untrue and that its leaders are blind guides who are leading him into the way of divine disapproval? Would it be wrong for him to go against the wishes of his parents and of the community by changing his religion? Or would it be wrong for him not to change? This is a serious decision, and certainly neither the opinions of others nor emotions should be allowed to influence it, because it has to do with his relationship with God.
...found this nugget last night on the CD. Ironic isn't it
A favorable relation with the Creator is of far greater importance than the favorable opinion of relatives, friends and neighbors. If a person’s worship is wrong, his eternal welfare is in jeopardy. But how is he to know whether his worship is right or wrong? -

The "anointed generation" is wrong, not because it is dragging on too long, but because it is too short.
by prologos injesus taught a surviving generation, a group inhering everlasting life, an escape route to avoid a global disaster worse than the flood, a generation that "will not pass away--" an infinite generation.
wt teaches a generation that dies, ends, passes away, at the first sign of real trouble, the great tribulation.. what do you believe about this wt assertion?
(apart from that there is no talking snake, it is all irrelevant).

A puzzling expression divinely created so that 2000 years later an uninspired yet somehow "guided" group of men directing a publishing entity could decipher it for us.
Isn't Jehovah God wonderful?

"Religion of Peace" Busy In Europe Today...
by freemindfade inturkey and now berlin, the abrahamic mind virus strikes again... actually there is no confirmation the truck attack was islam, but... it's probably islam.
at least in europe, they call terrorist attacks just that, unlike here in america, we have become so crazy we have clear terrorist attacks, some over a year old now that they still question the motive ala san bernadino.. religion .

CNN was absolutely correct to report it in the manner in which it was reported. To label it a terrorist attack, or even a presumed terrorist attack, before the local experts called it as such would have been irresponsible
I agree with you DJS in that they shouldn't jump to conclusions before the facts are revealed. However, to label this event as a "truck crash" sets it up as an accidental tragedy, while the early circumstantial evidence clearly pointed otherwise. A more appropriate headlines could have been something along the lines of: "Truck slams into crowd at Berlin Christmas market, killing 12 and injuring 48"
It's not the first time CNN uses questionable headlines to not "jump to conclusions" about Islamist terrorist. -

Germany and other European countries are willingly taking in hundreds of thousands of these folks from poor Muslim countries though. It was only a matter of time. The Obama admin wanted to take in a few thousand as well.. though I suspect the Trump admin will soon change that.

The Great Crowd!
by A Believer innotice the 144000 can be counted and they all come from israel.. 9 after this i saw, and look!
a great crowd, which no man was able to number, out of all nations and tribes and peoples and tongues,*+ standing before the throne and before the lamb, dressed in white robes;+ and there were palm branches in their hands.+ .

You choose not to understand because it doesn't say GC.
I've never said that Revelation or other scriptures don't seem to be talking about some sort of Earth. I've mentioned this multiple times, and each time you chose to ignore it.
My issue is with the interpretation WT gives to the Great Crowd.
We are going in circles here A Believer.
I urge you to do some research on the matter beyond what WT has to say. You'll find that there are many Christian interpretations out there that do include some sort of return to the Earth by humanity.
Also, research the history of the WT, from multiple sources, and ask yourself if you can honestly say there is undeniable evidence that WT is the one true divinely chosen channel of God.
Also, ask yourself why a supposed loving God would make his word, on which the lives of billions of people rest, so unclear and open to interpretation. If he truly wanted none of children to die, why wouldn't he just make his objective clear, easy to understand and undeniable? Wouldn't you?

So David,Moses and Noah didn't go and they were before that scripture was written.
That does not necessarily mean they weren't "going" after the words were written.
The "resurrection" had not occured yet.
Hebrews 11 talks about these men of old and then verse 16 says about them: "Instead, they were longing for a better country—a heavenly one"
The WT claims the resurrection is one to our old physical bodies. The Bible does not teach this. The second half of 1 Cor 15 describes the resurrection as to a new spiritual body.

Actually the evidence leans on our side because the scriptures that say man will live on earth forever
Nowhere in those verses does it say that it is "the great crowd" coming down from heaven, or alternatively that the "great crowd" is on earth receiving the "new jerusalen" from heaven.
You are connecting two scriptures that are not necessarily linked.

A Believer, please consider my words carefully:
You are assuming that ONLY the great crowd from Rev 7 can be the ones to live on Earth? That's not necessarily the case. John in his vision is witnessing a great multitude (or crowd) of people that are in heaven. This does not mean that there isn't other biblical scriptures that refer to some sort of Earthly hope.
Does EVERYONE go to heaven? Not necessarily. Does everyone live on Earth? Not necessarily.
All I'm saying is that the evidence points to the location of the Great Crowd, whoever that group is, and that is wherever God is..aka heaven.
JWs are NOT the only ones to believe that the bible teaches that man will live on Earth. There are literally thousands of different theories and beliefs out there related to men living on Earth. Look them up. The bible is not clear in the matter, and thus so many different possible interpretations.
However, regarding the GC's location, WT is wrong.
