  i would like as many people that can, to respond to this appeal as i am sure their are many examples out their that may help lurkers and fence sitters to make a decision on where they stand regarding the "truth".

  Doubter:All you really have to do is show that they agreed with things in the charter that violated their beliefs in 92.

  The very first point of the charter would be something WT claimed was blasphemous and wicked proclamation:
  

  The Purposes of the United Nations are

  1. To maintain international peace and security, to take effective collective measures for the prevention and removal of threats to the peace, and for the suppression of acts of aggression or other breaches of the peace, and to bring about by peaceful means, and in conformity with the principles of justice and international law, adjustment or settlement of international disputes or situations which might lead to a breach of the peace

  This is in direct conflict with WT belief. WT claims the UN is the symbolic beast that slanders God and promises what only his "kingdom" can deliver: Peace. Here's a direct quote from WT:

  "Such dwellers on earth wondered admiringly at the revived scarlet wild beast. Much reliance was placed in its ability to be a power for world peace and security. Great expectations were held out for it, and it was given designations that were really blasphemous from the standpoint of the Holy Bible. How so? In that to this wild beast powers were ascribed and tasks were assigned that really belong to Gods kingdom and its Messiah or its Christ. Back in 1919 the scarlet League of Nations had been seriously called the political expression of the Kingdom of God on earth. And now the United Nations, the successor of that League, has been called the best means for peace, yes, even more than that, the last hope for peace. So today we can see in actuality what the apostle John saw in symbol, that that scarlet-colored wild beast is full of blasphemous names. Those expressions of admiration for it turn false religionists, not to the worship of Jehovah God the Creator, but to idolatry of a man-made creation, the worship of a political image, the worship of an international organization for world peace and security. Rev. 17:3." Watchtower 1963 Nov 15 p.697

  Doubter:(1) where is it a sin, in any publication, for an individual Witness to agree with the UN charter in 1992 when this happened?

  For the same reason that a JW cannot join the YMCA. I'll let WT itself respond:

  "Is it true that for religious reasons Jehovah's Witnesses may not become members of the YMCA (Young Mens Christian Association)?
  
  Yes, that is so. We have long recognized that the YMCA, though not being a church as such, is definitely aligned with the religious organizations of Christendom in efforts to promote interfaith.
  …
  In joining the YMCA as a member a person accepts or endorses the general objectives and principles of the organization. … Membership means that one has become an integral part of this organization founded with definite religious objectives, including the promotion of interfaith. Hence, for one of Jehovah's Witnesses to become a member of such a so-called Christian association would amount to apostasy." Watchtower 1979 Jan 1 pp.30-31 Questions from Readers"

  Here is another WT quote condemning any association with wicked organizations:
  

  "The Bible condemns things such as stealing, idolatry and the misuse of blood, so a Christian could hardly engage in work where he directly promoted such things. Would doing the work so closely link a person with a condemned practice that he would be a clear accomplice? Even a janitor or a receptionist at a blood bank or a plant making only weapons of war is directly linked with work contrary to Gods Word." Watchtower 1982 Jul 15 Box on p.26 Employment Factors to Consider

  Doubter: (2) the GB have never agreed with a charter that was drafted by a religion they deem “Babylon the great” and entered a contract with them.

  To become an NGO, one has to agree with the Charter. This has been the case since before 1992.

  Doubter: So you are wrong on both counts.

  You ask two questions and reach a conclusion before hearing the answers?

  Before Doubter attempts to hijack this thread, I'd like to put this out there for any possible lurkers regarding the UN scandal:
  

  -"Library access" is not an acceptable excuse for Watchtower to break it's own rules. Any individual JW doing the same would have been reprimanded. The double standard is obvious.
  

  -The UN affiliation was only revoked due to media publicity. If a Witness confesses only after their sin is public knowledge there is high probability elders will not see their confession as a sign of repentance

  -If a Witness can be disassociated for membership with political organizations, the same standard should apply to the Watchtower Society

  hopefully what you've read on this site has made you start to think and see the truth about the organisation though that "it's not the truth!

  District Assemblies now being held at Circuit Assembly locations?

  i haven't been to a kh in decades, so i get the google alerts for jws and i got one featuring a local news channel in brooklyn covering the assembly being held in flatbush, brooklyn.

  i'm sure that venue is where the circuit assemblies are usually held, keeping in mind it's summer and that's when the district assemblies are being held.

  why are they acting like they're so strapped for cash and now holding district assemblies in circuit assemblies locations ?.

  My citing the concerns I saw while in was only to show that one's perception on whether the level of apathy is increasing/decreasing depends on where one looks.
  

  Also, apathy is not limited to "PIMO" individuals, as your own "not reaching out" experience reveals.

  i'm sure that venue is where the circuit assemblies are usually held, keeping in mind it's summer and that's when the district assemblies are being held.

  why are they acting like they're so strapped for cash and now holding district assemblies in circuit assemblies locations ?.

  I remember when i was in and serving as elder a few years back, one of the biggest concerns I would hear discussed by top brass was regarding the ever shrinking pool of young brothers reaching out for assignments. From my conversations with others in similar positions and in areas far from mine, it became apparent that such concern was not just limited to my locale.

  Only time will tell. I agree that it is foolish to expect that one event would single handedly bring down the religion.

  Who's to say though, that those events you mentioned, collectively, haven't had an effect in maintaining the very downward trend we've been talking about?
  

  Also, your perception of level of apathy, or lack thereof, can be contrasted by many that would beg to differ.
