No nephilim-like remains have been found in modern strata. The only "nephilim-like" fossils that have ever been found are dated far earlier than the alleged flood and there doesn't seem to be any question that they are anything other than early hominids.
I'm not exactly sure what underwater cities have to do with nephilim. Sounds like grasping at straws to me.
So it pretty much looks like there is zero evidence that the nephilim ever existed. Until there is evidence, there is no reason to view the nephilim as any more real than Cyclops.*

*Actually early explorers thought they had found evidence of Cyclops when they happened upon huge one-eyed skulls. It turns out they were elephant skulls. Elephant skulls have a huge hole for the trunk that looks eerily like a Cyclops skull is imagined to look like.

The Missing Link - remains of the Nephilim?
by truthseeker infor those of you that have seen recent documentarys (i can't remember the program names), there seems to be a few finds of importance regarding man's earliest ancestors.. .
one documentary i watched was about the discovery of an unusual skeleton, they suggested it was a bipedal - it walked on two legs.
but, the jaw and other parts of the skeleton were not completely human like.. .

My opinion is that (that particular part of) the conversation is just about as silly and worthwhile as discussing the number of angels that can dance on the head of a pin. I'm just pragmatic that way. ;)
Carry, on, friends!

Don't you just love non-falsifiable hyptheses? What if there really is no such thing as time and god created us, the universe, and all of our memories a billionth of a second ago?

I don't believe there have been any Neandertal fossils (nor any other non-modern man fossils) found younger than 30,000 years or so, so I view the assertion that one was found and dated to Noah's day (6,000 years or so) quite skeptically.

Because matter and anti-matter have a physical existence. Good and evil are concepts invented by humans to describe what situations we find pleasant or unpleasant. Many times we agree on what we call "good" and "evil", and many times we don't. Matter and anti-matter don't change their properties because a human doesn't agree with it. That is, matter has a physical existence, whereas the concept of good only exists in individual human minds and it can be completely arbitrary.

Astrology, the Zodiac, etc............
by Sunnygal41 ini know that this topic will be a draw to those who are truly interested in this subject, and for those who seem to feel that it is their "duty" to debunk untruth and myth, etc.
in their sphere of life.
let it so be stated that whoever is truly interested in this subject, and in having a "chart" done, etc.

It was very timely. :)
Unfortunately my thread was hijacked and locked, probably due to the offensive language used by the defenders of believers. Interestingly my requests not to discuss the validity of Astrology were not respected. Imagine that! :)

I'm sorry. I know I really seem like a boring ass on this board sometimes, but this stuff really intrigues me. I used to be a believer in this stuff and it's always interested me.
In real life I'm actually quite funny, light hearted and sometimes downright silly. People always tell me I belong on Saturday Night Live or should be a stand up comedian. LOL I guess I come accross a lot differently in writing. :)

Terri,
This is what I'm saying - you are taking a well known, natural phenomenon (such as orbs) and for no reason turning them into a supernatural event. Orbs and other artifacts are no mystery to professional photographers.
It's like saying, "Wow! I put some water in the freezer and the next morning it was hard as a rock! There must be a ghost in that box!"
The facts we know about the physical properties of water don't make them any less mysterious or amazing. In fact, having a deeper, more accurate understanding is all the more exciting as you learn to *harness* the phenomenon for the benefit of man.
Rainbows aren't any less beautiful now that we know they are caused by refracted light, and the fact that we know pots of gold won't be found at the end of them doesn't diminish our appreciation and awe of them.
For me a false sense of mystery by remaining voluntarily ignorant of facts doesn't show a true appreciation of the real mysteries of the universe. It's like a child's game where you just scratch the surface. There are so many *real* mysteries in life that are amazing to contemplate that to prefer artificial mysteries seems to show a lack of appreciation of them.
Now I'm not saying that we always have to be serious. It's fun to invent mysteries that don't exist - that's called fiction. The problem is when people have trouble distinguishing between fact and fiction. Maybe you guys are better actors than I give you credit for, but I was starting to see the lines blurred there.
That's just the way I see it. :)
