Banned from the Kingdom Hall?

so i was just wonderin' if anyone has ever heard of someone getting banned from the kingdom hall.

my dad who was a very looked up to elder before my parents divorce and allways a very devout jw recently got banned from the kh, this is the 1st time hearing of someone getting banned, see this elder was talkin to his new wife a little too much and he thought they were gettin a little too close and he told this dude to back off and he didnt so this elder had a talk one night and my dad stood up in the middle of the hall right as this dude got on stage and announced that he better stay away from his wife, he was asked to leave and he refused so they called the cops on him and the cops came right in and escorted him out.

so anywho they wont let him come back, they didnt df him or reprove him or anything just banned his ass-way to go dad, probably the best thing that ever happened to him, too bad he allready wasted 2/3 of is life in that sh*t. so has anyone else ever heard of getting banned?-april

It's good news really that your dad has been banned - give him time, perhaps he will see them for what they really are. If he would be prepared to read other material I'm sure that many here would agree with me that Ray Franz books are really the way to open his eyes.

I can well believe your husband's situation, with the back problem. My husband had a similar experience. He was in great pain suffering from an "exploded disk" when an elder called to our home and asked if he had managed to get to the circuit assembly. He (hubby) was lying on a mattress on the floor at the time (4 months) and could only get up with assistance !!

On returning to the KH he found that the only privilege he had (carrying the microphone)- was taken from him,,,,,,,,,,,,when he questioned the elders he was told his monthly hours were inconsistent.

What made you "see the light"?

i realize many (or all) of the ex-j.w.

's in this forum have either gotten out of the org., faded, or in some way have come to the conclusion that the watchtower is not the "faithful and discreet slave", and is not the "true" religion that they claim to be.

i am curious to know..... "what made you see the light"?.

First our son came across the UN/JW involvement, we just couldn't believe it - we thought it was all made up by apostates ! Eventually, we telephoned the UN and they confirmed it, we also go them to put it in writing which they very kindly did for us. This revelation then led on to all the other things 607bce and other false prophecies. The final straw was reading Ray Franz books, what an eyeopener, 2 Years on and we still talk about the mind control of the Org.

Thanks for the info. It will be very useful for many - We wrote to the London Bethel to request details under the Data Protection Act a couple of years ago. They charged us both the full wack of £10 each and then said they were not holding any info !!

for me a couple of weeks ago was in the service meeting, they stated that if the children didnt finish their homework because they were studying the bible or at a meeting that teachers should understand that their meetings and study are more important.

i looked at my wife and went "what"??

So many things I could write about, after being in for over 30 years. But the following really summed up the "love" in my last congregation-

The main Hall used for meetings was up a flight of stairs, therefore, disabled ones could not join with the cong. as there was no means of getting them upstairs, (although the promise had been made to sort out this problem, when they first required a show of hands for the purchase of the Hall.)

One day the congregation was asked to vote to purchase new chairs to replace the current chairs (nothing wrong with the current chairs) and many voted in favour of spending lots of money on more comfort for themselves and yet having no concern for the disabled who had to sit in the downstairs foyer, watching the meetings on a black and white tv, and it was pretty cold too, with ones going in and out to the toilets etc. and of course many (mostly elders) standing around talking (during the meeting)

What a lack of christian love !!!!

You will find lots of help here on this forum. We certainly did, we disassociated ourselves about 18 months ago, after finding out firstly -the involvement of the Watchtower with the United Nations, and then reading Ray Franz's book Crisis of Conscience, as soon as it dawned on us that the Governing Body were not God's channel of communication, then the slow de-programming started, we ask ourselves everday, how could we have been so brainwashed......

So good to see yet more and more coming out of the WT

DFing and The Data Protection Act.

i remeber hearing a couple of years back that if an organistion has any information held on you and you request to view it they have to show it to you.

has any one asked to see the information held on their dfing ?

also has any one asked for the infomation to be destroyed, which, i think the org would have to do as well.

21st Aug 2002, we wrote to the London Bethell to request the following:

Please can you forward all copies of personal information pertaining to us, that are being held
on your database.
The copies should be sent to our home address as stated above.
We enclose a stamped addressed envelope for your use.

23rd Aug 2002 - we received the following reply -
...The Act empowers recipients of such enquiries to levy a charge for processing the enquiry
and the Trustees of this charity have decided to levy a charge of £10 per person, as provided for in
section 7(2)(b) of the legislation.

In addition, we have a duty to satisfy ourselves as to the identity of each data subject before
disclosure of the data ........please therefore provide

1 a cheque or postal order payable to Watch Tower Society Britain, for the required fee.
2 Proof of your identity

9th Sept 2002 - We received a reply -
We confirm that we have carefully reviewed our files and we have no personal data disclosable
under the Data Protection Act 1998 that we can identify as relating to you. If you wish to provide any
supplementary information ...eg. previous town in which you lived or a congregation of
Jehovah's Witnesses with which you associated, we shall make a further search of the files.

At that point we gave up, lost £20.00 and got no reply showing any data !!!
