  A Newbie NO MORE...

  he was a simple, somewhat bright, but really geeky indian boy...struggled with his faith and personal problems.... .

  but he found a group of great friends with shoulders to cry on and to celebrate all that was good in his life, which he a built in spite of others who claimed to be family and friends.

  ...the fact that my daughters haven't spoken to me in a year and a half (non-dub related).. i have "sponsored" two young women from columbia and the honduras.

  i am thrilled.

  Hey, want to sponsor someone from Maine? I am pretty damn poor because I am going through college and work, and well its expensive. Had to scrape up quarters to get milk ;) Actually, its not so bad, money just gets tight every once in a while. A Credit Cousuling company screwed me out of $500 :( So depressing and sad....

  notperfectyet: He is asking questions for conversation purposes, and it started a good one, and he kept it going. You are contributing nothing. If he used to be an elder, why do you care? A lot of us here used to be Jehovah's Witnesses. Some of us still are... So why are you hung up on his past? I am sorry if I intrude...I just find that behavior obsessive. Trying to make fun of my screen name will not get you too far with me...it is parody, my little form of protest. So you might be the bot...who knows?

  jehovah's witnesses are taught that they will live "forever" on paradise earth.. let's say the year is 278,486 (assuming armageddon occurred in 2003).

  the millenium has passed, everyone has been resurrected, and earth has become the true paradise the jws predicted.. only one problem: you've done everything there is to do.

  my mother told me that after i get married, she's going to give me the "family happiness" book.

  i've never read the thing, but i know it's a wts publication that often gets given or mailed out to newlyweds who aren't in the troof.

  what's your opinion of this "fine christian publication"?

  Vita Nuova: Do you really think that women artists and poets and philosophers would have been taken seriously at those times around the people you mentioned? Let alone getting published! Of course...a woman back then who did anything other than get married young and start having children would have been looked down on. I assure you, the pool of brillian women would have been MUCH smaller than the pool of brillian men in those time periods. Yet women HAVE been just as brilliant...that in it self is very telling. Men and women are both thinkers-whoda thunk it?

  Dorkycrass, since you will not refute the obvious sexism in the organization...so be it. It is quite telling from your comments that you enjoy, or maybe even get off from a system that puts you in a position of authority and teaches superiority over half the people you come in contact with. I assume you would like that sort of power. The society perpetuates stereotypes, and you take it all in.

  Men have a penis, women have a vagina. Other differences are cultural.
  
  That being said, I love being a women, and I love being a human, and I love my fellow humans including the men. I try to look at everyone as an individual.
