my question is:.
a little girl who is part of my family has the habit of always holding on to people's ear lobs, mainly with persons who are close to her whether they are a relative or not?.
what are the causes for this type of behavor?.

Hello Vernisha and welcome to the board!

D Wilt & Thomas,
Thank you both for letting me know that I touched you in such an unexpeted way.
I always knew men were really soft hearted creatures under that tough exterior.
You both proved that to me today.

Hi Hex!
Welcome to the board.
Cloves are my favorite kind of cigarette and sometimes I'll even smoke a black one.
Does that count?
I'm afraid that it may be canceled out by the fact that I also like vanilla flavored cigarettes and am a married 30something mother of two.

Thomas,
Your right,
being a mother is full of wonderful
loving surprises and special momments.
It's sad that we get so caught up in the wirlwind of life and sometimes forget to share more of these wonderful memories.

My opinion is that it has something to do with comfort and security.
I have heard of other children doing this.
I don’t believe it is a sign of any serious problem.
I have experience with something similar involving my son.
It started when he was a baby when I was nursing him. He would be very contented and relaxed and reach up and play with my hair.
Even after I weaned him he would play with my hair when I held him.
As he got older he still did this when sitting beside me.
This happens especially when he’s tired, sleepy, or sick.
He is 9 and still does it, although not as often.
I have talked to quite a few mothers who have similar stories with the hair and also some that say it was the ear lobe instead.
It reminds me of how a cat kneads when contented the way it did when it nursed its mother.

i have not followed very many threads of late, so if someone has already made the same observations i'm about to make, i apologize for my redundancy.. .
i admit it: i'm part of a highly secretive, highly elite group.

Farkel,
You said,
As a result, we have to constantly recognize what we have in common (being screwed up) and deal with it and not fret so much over what we don't have in common, IMO. We have to show more tolerance and respect for our differences, and we constantly have to work on developing that "love" for each other that we never had as dubs. It is our duty, no, it is our OBLIGATION to rise above our sordid pasts and let our lives be the examples of compassion and understanding that we never had as JWs.
I agree and I enjoyed your entire post.
These were the kinds of things I was thinking earlier today when I posted the thread, What Is Your Real JWD Personality.
I think it is helpful to try to understand others but I feel we also need to look within ourselves.
There's always room for growth and improvement.

a lot of us have gotten a kick out of those online personality tests.. we have also seen threads started from time to time that ask the question, why are you here?.
it would be good from time to time to ask our some questions and do some self-analization.. now we have a tool we can use to see if we are being honest with others and ourselves.. click on members at the top of the page and check on your self from time to time.. are we a positive influence or a negative one?.
if you think your not interested or dont care thats fine but dont be shocked when your past history comes and bites you on the ass.. i am glad to have this tool now so i can self regulate myself and can also use it to find out if a person is being honest,or basically up to no good.. i think we will see a little of every thing here.. some types i notice without even looking are,.
Waiting,
Lol,
No, I didn’t mean you would automatically see one of those labels beside your name.
I just meant for us to click on the little sheet of paper icon out to the right of your name and review some of your past threads.
This is a personal exercise and, we sorta end up labeling ourselves in our minds so to speak when we see the over all tone and content of our threads.
No one else should do it for us.
I’m not communicating to well today it seems.
Sorry that I made you testy.
