  How have appointed bros handled leaving the WTS

  i'm debating on when to actually decide and step down as a ministerial servant.

  my conscience will no longer allow me to give talks or speak to others in the door-to-door work.. i'm feeling really apprehensive about what i need to do, i know for a fact that my wife is going to be devestated.. .

  whats the best way to step down from an appointed position?

  Leander,
  I’ve noticed that it’s harder and harder to step down these days. They are desperate and will try to get you to change your mind or just say that there’s no need for that they will just take your situation into consideration and be patient till things get better for you.
  The most effective thing is to miss meetings and service then it will be their idea to remove you.

  Before I quit going to meetings I got to were I could not give talks on subjects I didn’t believe then I couldn’t do it at all. I went to our school overseer and told him that I was under a lot of stress and wanted to be taken off the list till several months later. I knew I’d be completely out by then anyway. He refused to take me off the list! He said if he assigned me before I was ready I could trade with someone.
  I was so mad! I came home and told my husband that the man could assign me all the talks he wanted but I won’t show up or get any subs for him!

  Final Straw???

  people leave the wts,willingly or unwillingly(df).. what was that 'final straw' that told you "that's it...enough is enough..'.

  There were many straws in the pile for me that had stacked up over the years.
  Some of the latest were the change in the generation teaching, the sterilization and vasectomies rule changing back and forth, blood fractions, the voting scandal, I could go on and on but the final straw I think was that I had been this congregation for over 5 years and I found out that our PO is a child molester! The old time elders knew it and did not warn me or anyone else in the cong., so that we could protect our children! Not only that, but I was disgusted that he was in the highest position in the cong! Also my daughter was a best friend with this guy’s daughter and she spent many a night at their house.
  We are taught to trust brothers especially those with positions. We were betrayed so they could protect their old time buddy! He’s not an elder now but he still is held out as an example in the cong., he does parts on the meetings and the congregation is still in the dark about this sicko.
  The way WT has handled this case along withers was it for me!
  Just think were supposed to believe that Jah's spirit selected this child molester to be an elder!!

  I don't belong to Mary Kay.
  I'm part of a community womens club and we had this lady in to give us free makeovers.I did feel sorry for her though because no one bought anything.

  I always knew that the Stars and Models are every bit as as human as the rest of us but it’s always nice to see it.
  The other morning a group of us girls got together for our monthly club meeting.
  We were instructed to show up with no makeup at all. After the meeting we were going to get a Mary Kay makeover. I was rushing the lady to get us past the cover up and makeup base! It was amazing to see the transformation in all of us.

  I JUST LOVE MAKEUP!!

  PARADISE HOPE FOR THE NON-RELIGIOUS APOSTATE

  most of us let go of the fantasy of living forever on a paradise earth for another hope.

  the one we hope in is a little more realistic than the one we have left behind.. we have accepted that we dont have all the answers about god and an afterlife.

  My Gosh!!!
  This must sound really nutty not to have any replies!
  I know this is just wishful thinking.I don't really believe this will ever happen.
  But I feel it has a greater chance of coming true than so many of the religious fantasies of paradise or hopes for the future.I wish it could come true.

  Thought I’d share my first response to the letters I sent out about the WT and UN.
  First a little background.
  My father is Df’d and ran back to my mom and the WT as soon as the WTC tragedy happened. This left my sister homeless and scared to death.
  I was so afraid this was going to send her running back to WT too. I’ve been helping her as much as I can and I sent her a copy of the letter I sent to my mom about the UN.
  My sister called me this morning. She said that this info was disgusting and would have sent her running away from the Org if she was still in good standing.
  She is shocked but believes the info I gave her.
  My dad promised me he would read the Bible before going back to the JWs, of course he also promised not to drink and drive, to stop gambling and to give my sister a home till she graduates from college. Why am I shocked that he lied and broke all his promises!!! I’m hopeless at wanting to believe him. Any way he also promised to read Combating Cult Mind Control by Steven Hassen so I sent it to him. When he broke all his promises I had my sister take the book back and she has promised to read it.
  I won’t hold my breath but I’m hopeful.

  We have accepted that we don’t have all the answers about God and an afterlife. Neither does anyone else. We no longer worry about things we have no control over. We are resolved to cherish our freedom of mind and choose to live this life to the fullest, being the best we can be. We refuse to waste precious time being negative about our gift of life. We will not wish this life away for another one that will never come.
  Our hope is that one day our friends and family will be freed from the bondage of mind and body to the Watchtower Society or any other destructive belief system!
  We hope that some day soon we will be so busy reestablishing lost relationships and helping them to rebuild their lives and living our own that we won’t have time for this board except to post our wonderful experiences of friends and family united again along with stories of lives and minds reclaimed!

  I GOT TWO NEW RETURN VISITS TODAY!!

  i do have two new return visits but they are not from field service.. my womens club went to a local nursing home today.

  we brought the elderly gifts, we sang songs with them, and we brought our pets, and listened to them.

  they were so happy to see us and share some of their lifes experiences with us.. it was different to go to a nursing home with no ulterior motives like pushing jw literature.. it felt right to just give them what they wanted most.
