Hmmm, can't see any link. The only active ones are the Advertise / Ad Choice links!
It might be because I'm on my Tablet as it sometimes mangles up formatting. I check later on our laptop.
Cheers mate!

Hey Balaamsass,
Thanks for posting! This is a good article because it hits some keys points like listing the dollars, quoting docs to show the congregations knew about it, and mentioning the ridiculousness of the two witness rule.
Did you have a link for the article?

Attention JWs of Melbourne, Australia!
I see from the news tonight that Sister Williams has arrived in your beautiful city to compete in the Australian Open. No doubt she will follow the WTS advice and keep up with her spiritual routine while away from home for work and pleasure. I'm sure Womans Weekly and New Idea will be awash with pictures of her in a modest below the knee skirt, and top with no cleavage showing engaging in the door to door work. Maintaining high JW standards she will of course check in to her hotel dressed as she would for a meeting. I wonder if she answered up in this weekends WT on humility?

The New Diary of Winston Smith
by WinstonSmith inwe had to go off grid for a time, time and half a time as we thought we had been outed.
fortunately it was a false alarm, but it was a stressful time.
i asked for my original diary thread to be deleted in case there could be anything on there to identlfy mrs smith and i. i am always very careful when posting, and am sure there was nothing on there, but felt it best to have it removed in order to be as cautious as a dove.

I'm up to chapter 2 of In Search of Christian Freedom and I gotta say, the lawyer that cross examined Fred Franz in the Walsh Trial did a superb job. He kept Franz honest and pulled him up when statements he made contradicted previous statements. In a nutshell:
Franz: JWs are obliged to follow the information that is in our publications.
[later]
Lawyer: So one gets ordained by reading these books?
Franz: Yes. They read the statements and then the scriptures to see if the statements are supported by the scriptures.
Lawyer: Did you just imply that a person can read these books and are allowed to come to their own conclusions?
Franz: Yes.
Lawyer: Didn't you say earlier that JWs are obliged to follow the information from your publications?
Franz: Yes.
Burn baby.

Anyone Else See Les Miserables?
by BizzyBee ini went to see it today - by myself (mr bee is on a golf junket).
i was glad that that i was by myself because i cried so much at the end, i wouldn't have wanted to be with anyone who wasn't crying - and that would not have been mr bee!.
les miserables the current film is adapted from what is considered one of the half-dozen greatest novels of the past 150 years and one of the longest novels ever written.

Did Javert (Russell Crowe's character) actually die? I've heard there is going to be a sequel: Les Miserables 2: Revenge of Javert
Tarantino is slated to direct.

Mrs Smith and I watched it recently, and we both thought the sets, costumes, and acting were amazing. The singing however was verging on painful! Russell Crowe in particular was a shocker. There was also a scene where a girl is dressing up as a man and during the last note she holds in her song, me, and some people in front of us put our hands on our ears.
The whole singing-instead-of-talking-in-a-normal-conversation thing was grating on us by the end.
I reckon that if they used the same actors, sets, and costumes, and instead of singing everything only had three or four big songs, it would have been stupendous.
I'm intrigued that there is a Liam Neeson version. Might have to track that down......

by WinstonSmith inhi guys,.
i was just looking through www.reddit.com/r/exjw and there is a thread that was posted about four hours ago with the title "so our circuit overseer just got disfellowshipped" and there some basic details in their op.
the location is given as central coast, australia, which is north of sydney.. there aren't many more details other than "it has sent shockwaves throguh the congregations" and a query on the protocol in situations like this.

Morning team,
I have received a PM advising that this is not a rumour and that the name of the CO is Ray McDonald. The PM goes on to say that the announcment was made "this week at all the local halls."
When I read the exchange about the UK CO on Reddit, I read it to be that the UK CO was Ray McDonald. Reading it again, in the light of the PM I have received, I think I misread the exchange and that the poster was in fact saying that the Aussie CO is Ray McDonald.
The original post saying the CO had been DF'd was made by a user called OmgU8MyRice. Later in the thread user NeonMadman01 asks "Do you have a name for this CO? There was a similar rumour recently in the UK but no name ever surfaced, and the rumour appears to be false."
OmgU8MyRice responds: "Ray McDonald. He was only young, about 35 I think. This is definitely not a rumour its just been announced at the congregation and has also been confirmed by bethel."
Like I said, I misread that to be that OmgU8MyRice was confirming / advising the name of the UK CO. But rereading it now, it makes sense that he was actually providing the name of the Aussie CO. This seems to be confirmed by the PM I have received.
So, locals to Central Coast NSW, do you have a CO there by the name of Ray McDonald?
The purpose of starting this thread was twofold. One, to seek confirmation. Two, to see if he may need some assistance. I can't imagine what it would be like to be that deep in the organisation and then to suddenly have nothing.
I have no interest in why he is "no longer one of Jehovah's Witneses" but whatever it was for, he's likely to be in a tough spot right now.

Mornng everyone!
The Reddit thread now has a few more comments, but still no name, so this remains unverified and scant on detail. Someone has made a post and asked for the name. Hopefully some more details will emerge.
Interestingly, someone also posted a comment saying the UK rumour appeared to be false. A local (former memebr of the CO's circuit) has claimed it is not false and another poster identifies the CO as Ray McDonald.
