37Fb status of a Young JW Mom. Sooo Sick!
by 3dogs1husband incan't believe that we made it through the whole assembly, **** wasn't feeling good last night, has a cold, was pretty cranky, then he seemed fine and minutes later im making a bowl with my hands for him to throw up in while we are sitting (the joys of parenthood) then into a plastic bag, then very quickly ran to the bathroom for even more throwing up, but suprisingly we stayed for the rest of the day.
trying to think of a response.
i am not "out" on fb soooo sick from this i wanna throw up myself...poor children!.

For those that can remember, when Billy Idol's Rebel Yell came on, did clubs/parties go bananas?
by Theocratic Sedition init's 2012 and that song still bangs to me, but i was kid when it was originally released.
those of you who were young back then(no offense), was that song guranteed to inject adrenaline into a party or a club?.

Funny enough a few weeks back there were job openings and I even e-mailed a member of this site an application form.
I work at the Houses of Parliament in Great Britain.
A few months back I was sitting alone in a smoking area having a fag when this man comes out for a fag too, he didnt work there but looked somewhat familiar to me and he had said hello, so I said, "are you someone famous"?, he said, "no..........my names Fergal" in a strong Irish Accent, so there I was, having a fag with Fergal Sharky, I also said, "you couldnt sing "Teenage kicks" for me could yer", he replied, " your right, I couldnt".
Ive had Kate Moss look at me and coyly say, "Hi", I replied, "Hi". (Perhaps she could tell I was from Croydon).
Earlier this year I was told Desmond Tutu was due in and I was to take him to a commitee room, of course as is the way, the big wigs took it upon themselves to do the task I had been assigned, so just got to see him in passing.
During the anti-Iraq war demonstration, British Weather girl Sian Lloyd needed to use a tiolet, she was going out with an MP I was friendly with at the time, so I had the pleasure of escorting her through the building to the Ladies.
Margaret Thatcher stopped to ask me how I was once.
Lots and lots of famous people I get to see, but its only of interest to me when I can have a chat with them.

Stories you've heard from what makes one believe they are 'anointed'.

When a practising Dub, I never for a minute considered I was annointed.
Its only looking back and understanding what the scriptures really say that makes me belive maybe I am.
You see, I didnt have anything amazing happen or see a sign or anything, or "know", or say Abba.
What did happen however, is that about half hour after I was Baptised, I felt Holy Spirit pour on the top of my head and run down my body, now isnt that what "annointing" is?, having Holy Spirit poured over you like the old annointing with oil?
I had and do feel the Holy Spirit on the inside, but that is the only time I ever felt it on the outside.
Not sure what Iam supposed to do with it though, and I certainly dont feel at all worthy of it and wonder if God made a mistake or something?

Funny enough, about 3 or 4 weeks ago, Billy Idol came on a tour to my place of employment, so I started chatting to him, about the hideous statue of Margaret Thatcher would you belive.
He comes across as an intelligent and alltogether decent person. Afterwards he shook my hand.
I much prefer "White wedding" by the way.

Great Crowd is NOT under the New Covenant...Where does it say this?
by Christ Alone ini was wondering if there was anywhere someone could point to in the bible for the watchtower belief that the great crowd is not included in the new covenant.
i know that this is their line of thinking when it comes to jesus being mediator.
they say that jesus is only mediator of the new covenant and since the gc is not under the new covenant, jesus is not specifically a mediator to them.

I do agree Endofmysteries that there is a "Higher calling", but do not agree with the Watchtower that this is the New Covernant, the New Covernant is for all, just as the Old Covernant was for all.
Hopefully those scriptures that we all felt unworthy of relate to the Higher calling, the preserve of the Saints ot Annointed, but that as a result of Jesus shed blood and mercy, the New Covernant, even us sinners who ask will in fact receive.

I think they get us to belive it via sleigh of hand with the following Bible text from Luke 22 at the last supper.
Jesus has demonstrated the New Covenant, then some time later, an argument breaks out amongst the Diciples about who would be the greatest, after Jesus puts them right he "confers" on them places in his Kingdom to rule as Kings with him, because they stuck with him in his trails.
Nowhere does it say that the New Covernant is for anyone to rule as Kings, it says its for forgiveness of sins due to Jesus sacrifice, whereas the Old Covernant was salvation by works.
The bit about Kings that the JWs use, though it appears in the next paragraph, its clear its not related.
19 And he took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me.”
20 In the same way, after the supper he took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you. [a] 21 But the hand of him who is going to betray me is with mine on the table. 22 The Son of Man will go as it has been decreed. But woe to that man who betrays him!” 23 They began to question among themselves which of them it might be who would do this.
24 A dispute also arose among them as to which of them was considered to be greatest. 25 Jesus said to them, “The kings of the Gentiles lord it over them; and those who exercise authority over them call themselves Benefactors. 26 But you are not to be like that. Instead, the greatest among you should be like the youngest, and the one who rules like the one who serves. 27 For who is greater, the one who is at the table or the one who serves? Is it not the one who is at the table? But I am among you as one who serves. 28 You are those who have stood by me in my trials. 29 And I confer on you a kingdom, just as my Father conferred one on me, 30 so that you may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom and sit on thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
Interesting that it is only Lukes Gosple that makes any mention of the ruling as kings dispute and promise, Matthew and Mark mention the eating of the Symbals of the New Covernant being for forgiveness of sins and as a rememberence of him, but nothing about the ruling as kings.
Its just another case were the JWs match two unrelated Biblical passages in order to get folk to belive in theri doctrines of men.

Are Jehovah's Witnesses Damned?
by Cold Steel inthis is really aimed at evangelicals and people of other religions, especially those who left the jws and are now happily engaged in other christian faiths.
in short, based upon your present religious views, are jehovah's witnesses damned to an eternal hell for their beliefs?.
if you're an atheist or agnostic, this question ain't for you.

I dont belive in Hell or that people are Damned as such.
Having said that, the Bible gives us an example of what happened to the Hebrews when they helped their worship of Jehovah along a little bit by making a Golden calf "to Jehovah", when Moses came down he gave them a choice, many however stuck to their Golden calf and the ground swallowed them up.
Its exactly the same thing in the org, instead of folk going directly to Jesus, they have made this Golden Calf of men called the Governing body which demands worship in itself, though suppossedly as an aid to worshipping Jehovah.
When the greater Moses, Jesus comes along, I expect he will give JWs the same choice, to abandon their Golden Calf worship, and I imagine many of them will not and then the ground will swallow them up.

Doomsday e-mail has my co-worker paranoid
by fade_away ini cannot stand the doomsday people trying to spread fear amongst everyone.
i've had enough doom and gloom from the 25 years of my jw service...i just want to be happy and positive.
but my co-worker is very pessimistic, anti-social and an extreme negative energy all around.

Err, dont you read the News?, this is common knowledge that Israel is really really pushing for America to attack Iran, and that they will therefore have to do it themselves, that America and Britain have rather a lot of big ships in the Persian Gulf, that Russia has supplied Iran with some very advanced missiles, (dont think scud), that China has said any threat to Iran is a threat to China even if it means World War 3.
No need for an e-mail, this is really happening.

Back in the early 70s, a bunch of us were into old bikes and also into The Sensational Alex Harvey Band, first concert I went to at Hammersmith Odeon was recorded for their live album.
Alex had a Super Hero called Vambo who was allways, "coming to the rescue".
As a Naval Air Mechanic my rating was NAM 1St Class, and as I was allways coming to the rescue when one of the gang had a problem with their bike, I was nicknamed Nambo.
