Buster, in Massachusetts it's still really easy for Doctors to get a court order for blood transfusions. A few years ago my son needed surgery, and my husband said no blood ( he didn't need it any way ). The Doctor told me it was as easy as picking up the phone to get an immediate court order for a transfusion ( which made me feel better at the time ).As the Doctor walked my son into the operating room, he looked at me and said " Don't worry, I will take good care of your son ", and at that moment, I knew he would do whatever it took to make sure my son would be ok.

(((((((((((((Robyn))))))))))))) This is so sad. Funny thing though, if I had gotten sick as a teenager, I would have refused blood also. Even if I had wanted to take blood, I wouldn't have for fear of disappointing my family. So I would have made the same stance. I imagine most of us who grew up in this organization would have. We will never know if that 16 year old girl truly believed in what she was doing. So very sad. My 3 step siblings lost their mother because she refused blood transfusions when she was bleeding uncontrollably after giving birth to my youngest step sister. It breaks my heart that she will never know her mother because of this religion.

Pirates! Johnny Depp
by asleif_dufansdottir ini really liked it (i don't ask a lot in a movie...escapist entertainment's what i'm after).
i thought johnny depp rocked as the rather swishy, funny pirate captain.
orlando bloom is turning into quite the attractive young man...after that last scene, i can see him in musketeer garb.. looking forward to the league of extraordinary gentlemen (love sean connery)...heard it's not great, but like i said, escapist entertainment).

We saw the movie yesterday. We LOVED it! I thought the special effects were great ( like when the dead pirates walked in and out of the moonlight ). But of course the number one reason to see it would be Johnny Depp. Scrumptious! And my husband quite enjoyed watching the beautiful girl ( can't remember her name, too busy focusing on Depp ).

This is pathetic!
by obiwan inok has anyone heard or watched the new cartoon with pam anderson called "stripperella"?
this cartoon witch pam anderson does the voice over is supposed to be a stripper at night and later that night she fights crime and is some kind of superhero.
lol she gave a small interview about the show and said that the only thing she wanted was to make sure the cartoon didn't show her boobs....what the hell was stan lee thinking?

What's Fair About This??
by worldlygirl ini've asked my husband about this many times, and he always manages to skirt the issue.
here is the point i try to get across to him: .
first of all, you have to agree that god is fundamentally fair (he agrees with me on this point.

I had a somewhat similar conversation with my husband recently.I said that he believes that only witnesses will be saved at Armaggedon, and he said that's not true, that Jehovah reads hearts, and there could be others. I brought up the conversation, because I said why is it fair for the people who have already died to have a second chance, yet the people who are alive( or rather soon to be killed ) during Armaggedon don't. He didn't really have a good answer to that one.
Funny though, when he said that witnesses didn't teach that they were the absolute only ones to be saved, I said he must be in a different religion than the one I grew up in, because that's what I was taught.
I share your frustrations, worldlygirl!!
