  if you think being a jehovahs witness is bad now you should have been around in the good old days thousands of years ago.

  perhaps you might enjoy taking this test i found online about how well do you really know the bible.

  Three football fans were on their way to a game when one noticed a foot sticking out of the bushes by the side of the road. They stopped and discovered a nude female, dead drunk. Out of respect and propriety, the Bears fan took off his cap and placed it over her right breast.

  The Vikings fan took off his cap and placed it over her left breast.
  Following their lead, the Packers fan took off his cap and placed it
  over her crotch.

  The police were called and when the officer arrived, he conducted his
  inspection. First, he lifted up the Bears cap, replaced it and wrote down some notes. Next, he lifted the Vikings cap, replaced it and wrote down some more notes. The officer then lifted the Packers cap, replaced it, then lifted it again, replaced it, lifted it a third time, and replaced it one last time.

  The Packers fan was getting upset and finally asked, "What are you, a
  pervert or something? Why do you keep lifting and looking, lifting and looking?"

  MY MUMS IS DIEING O F CANCER?

  my mums in hospital in nottingham england she is a current jw and has stomach cancer.she is a lovley mum but has been brain washed not to have the blood so they left the opp to build her up.

  because she would need blood during the opp if she is weak she will die on the opp table.but she has got worse and weaker so now am losing my mum through waiting.she would have had a chance.

  but now it looks like she has 2 weeks of life left.why???

  Mark,

  AGuest is correct. Your mother's wishes are the most important. Do you know what she wanted? If it is different than what you would do or believe, please think of the ramifications of trying to change her mind. She is very ill and might be open to suggestions she might not have been open to before she was very ill.

  I am sure you and she have had discussions on these issues. I hope so.

  The issues that remain unclear are why the witnesses are in her room, discussing her care with her doctors?! Again, I urge you to speak with the doctors alone and get them out! Unless she granted them legal rights to make medical decisions for her, you should tell them to butt out. There are legalities involved that the doctor should be respecting.

  we were never s'pose to die????

  out of the many things from the bible i wonder about there was one i thought i would share with you all and see if you may have any interesting insights on this issue.. according to the bible man was suppose to live forever, no sickness, easy childbirth for women, just your basic paradise, right?.

  so ok, we all know that because that wretched eve screwed it up for all of us and everything we now have suffering and death.. my problem with all of this is this: what if all the people who had ever lived had never died?

  how many of us would there be on the planet?

  The issue of overpopulation is occuring in undeveloped, third-world countries. The birth rate in industrialized countries is going down. No pun intended! Japans birthrate is less than 1 per couple. They are begging people to have children. In the long run, under population is just as harmful as over population.

  Apparently they stopped having sex. They must have lots of JW's telling them it is only for procreation, out there!

  Hi Mark,

  I am so sorry your mother is so ill. Please accept my heartfelt sympathy.

  On the issue of you not being alone with your mother, it is as Celia and LB said. You tell them to leave. Unless your mother had a power of attorney or legal document granting them legal authority to make medical decisions, you should SCREAM! Do not put up with it.

  You, as her son, have more say than anyone, other than a spouse, in what can happen to her medically. Please talk to the doctors-alone.

  The elders or other JW's have no legal rights to be telling the doctors anything about her care. The other issue is why are the doctors discussing her illness with someone other than a family member? English law is extremely similar to US law in civil areas. This could be a breach of doctor/patient priviledge. Similar to an attorney.

  Please look into it.

  I do recall hearing the "Jehovah will stop procreation" theory. The question of God cutting off the population when the earth reached saturation brings up another question:

  What would happen to sex? Since JW dogma is that sex is for procreation, this would make sex obsolete. Perhaps that is where masturbation comes in! Since we would not be able to do it with each other, we could do it alone.

  please,there are still x-dubs posting on this board that think they are free from the watchtower.

  they say things like, "well it may not be the perfect truth, but they, (the wt) still teach good morals" etc.. remember we are talking about brainwashing here, & its a very tricky & insidious practice!.

  I brought this up to my mother when I was young. Her typical JW response-"Jehovah would take care of all of us."

  Your question is logical. How. That is where the bible falls short. Logic. There is very little in the book. That is why, I personally, do not believe it. To me it is fables; stories that got passed down and passed down. As each telling changes a little, history changes.
