New terminology? “Donations in Support of Kingdom Interests Worldwide”
by Ultimate Reality inpetra/atlantis recently posted and supplied a document on donations.
what stood out to me, besides the usual nonsense, was the phrase, “donations in support of kingdom interests worldwide.”.
this appears to be a change in terminology from donations in support of the “worldwide work of jehovah’s witnesses.”.

Has Anyone Gotten Disfellowshipped Here and For What??
by minimus insex issues seem to be the number one reason but apostasy is right up there too.
even if you weren’t disfellowshipped , do you know why some people you know were disfellowshipped?

the bible god can not lie, but promotes lying prophets, today's wt study
by waton instudy 32, par 7 , cites 1 king 19-22 to prove that "jehovah" humbly asks angels their opinion.
-- not true, in effect.
the request was: who is going to go forth and lie for us, give a false prophecy?

Waton, I dont know the study, I just reacted to your headline. Clearly this is a problem to JW theology. I dont recall ever reading about the two wills of God in either Russell or any jw publication. But logically it makes sense that as God's ways are not our ways, God's doings will not always make sense and believers outside jw tradition will not expect them to. As I have said before, jw has not made it easy for themselves in this field and it is probably why we have this odd phenomen that most x jws turn atheist; it all stands and falls with that peculiar WTS authority

Where have the NWT Bible changed verses to fit their theology ?
by smiddy3 ini can think of two to start off with .
john 1:1 and luke 23:43 ,what others can you come up with ?.

Christianity should not be a book religion, especially to the point where it becomes important to whether this or that book is a part or not. Cant say I ever came across a book that I felt I missed out on, already so many. They are all avaible in case you miss them; the Maccabeans, Enoch or Esdras books etc

Yes it requires bias to exclude Jesus from having YHWH quotations applied to him

Sin came into the world - not true?
by menrov inmatt 5:27 “you have heard that it was said, ‘do not commit adultery.’ 28 but i say to you that whoever looks at a woman to desire her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.. this means that even before someone commits an act that is considered a sin or wrong but does think about it, that person actually already committed that sin or trespassing.. now read this:.
rom.
5:12 so then, just as sin entered the world through one man and death through sin, and so death spread to all people because all sinned— 13 for before the law was given, sin was in the world, but there is no accounting for sin when there is no law.. this means that there was already sin in the world before adam and eve actually ate the fruit.

Phizzy, true. Whether or not Paul says that in Romans 5 is at least a matter of interpretation ☺️

I dont know if jw has ever discussed this, probably not.
But basically you have the upholding hidden God on one side and the revealed God Jesus on the other side. It becomes a bit too reality oriented for the liberal critical mind, but reason would have that the Creator is not merely telling us how we should be but is also pulling the strings behind the curtain, ultimatively "for good" (Genesis 50:20)

Phizzy,
Who believes God created anyone with original sin? Generally man gets all the blame 😁😁. Paul seems to be contend with blaming Adam for the introduction of sin into the world

"my righteous servant will justify many" Isaiah 53:11.
I think from a Bible fundamentalist perspective, we often fail to realize that the biblical revelation is progressive. Only a few lesser known belief systems take that into account (Bullingerism is one) while the Bible critic says well of course it is "progressive" 😁😁😁

Waton,
As Paul says, it is better to marry than burn with lust. I think many humans have experienced this. It can easily lead to more than acting against the obnoxious preaching of the preacher against fooling around with the cute girls; it can lead to broken relations, hurt people and sexually transmitted diseases. Most of us like Adam learn through errors. Of course the rulers want to motivate against certain behaviour like that of Paris and Prometheus, but in real life we sometines need to fall in order to know when we stand
