i’m curious about a comment i read saying that rutherfords idea of only 144000 going to heaven was taken from the founder of the church friends of man.

i tried looking up this church but could not find information on when they started this belief.

Does prophesy negate free will?

not sure if this is in the right subject but here it goes.

i’ve asked this question to a few elders and bethelites but they don’t seem to understand or like the question.

to start off we have to agree that jehovah is all powerful.

Tim207, there is no free will. The human will is subject to many things. I dont think the human will stands any chance against God's Judges 14:4, Ephesians 1:11, Revelation 17:17 etc ☺️

Well it is seems pandemics arises due to man's bad choices. For the human race in general, I find overpopulation more worrying

The Friends of man was another Russellite offshoot. Russell had two classes too, but as I recall his classes were the commited / consecrated and the more mellow. The commited/consecrated would run for the race to become like Jehovah in nature. If they failed, they would die and never be raised. At some point he also concluded they were not part of the ransom but made their own sacrifice covenant with God. The more mellow ones were not spiritually mature and ready for the great task and would have a significantly esser but still great role in the new world. All Christians went to heaven. Rutherford took a more literal and Evangelical approach to the sheep and goats judgment and applied it to all. You had to become a faithfulJW or you would be slain at Armageddon or not raised .

Do You Feel Your Rights Are Being Trampled On By Government Regarding Coronavirus?

i support local and state and federal government’s power to safeguard the public.

i wonder is it getting to a point where we will be told we can’t go out anymore, can’t use your phone or computer anymore because of the viruses that we can get, etc.

are we prolonging this virus at all ?

There is no doubt that increasing turmoil due to overpopulation,. pandemics and mass immigration will be used to cut down freedom rights all over the West. Just like the rights of Tommy Robertson in the UK (where the little man has always been downtrodden) are totally squashed in the name of keeping public order. It is what it is .
