  Home From Vacation/Visited German Bethel

  my children and i just returned from a trip to germany where we visited my deceased husbands parents, his brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews, and assorted cousins, all of who are jehovahs witnesses.. before we left, the children and i agreed that since their grandparents were old people and not in good health, it would be an act of loving consideration not to cause them any further distress by announcing that we were no longer active in the congregation.

  so we went prepared to attend meetings, to go out in field service and to pretend that we were still die hard jehovahs witnesses.

  we packed the proper kingdom hall attire, suits, ties, ankle length dresses, as well as our bibles and songbooks.. i suppose to some this may seem the cowards way out, that i should have just announced our new status and let the chips fall where they may.

  did you ever know anyone from Selters, or Frankfurt English congregation? Did you know Michael, the elder from Frankfurt English, who had the twin daughters? He resigned as an elder then not long after quit altogether?

  we read of recent events, 5 jw children killed in a car accident, jw's caught and beheaded and be-tongued (and not necessarily in that order) in the phillipines, a busload of witnesses burnt to death in spain on the way to the district convention (some years back).

  and so on and so on..... yet the wt and bible too tell us "have no fear because jehovah and his myriads of angels are watching over us and will protect us.".

  well, they do a pretty crappy job at it!

  I am seriously considering starting up a new church, Church of the Great God of Time and Unforeseen Circumstances and the Latter-Day Random Winners.

  At least my God can offer us a 50-50 chance! :-)

  Seriously, the other thing I recall that the Dubs offered as an excuse was that J-Hoover allows some brothers to be killed in a horrible death because it serves some timely purpose of his! Remember that one!

  I recall faintly some story out of Africa where a brother was killed, and it gave a great witness and half a million new dubs were baptized the next day (maybe I exaggerate those figures a little).

  So the souls of the beheaded in Phillipines can rest assured that their beheadment somewhere is selling another WT or two!! That should make them rest easy!
