  Whats the worst 'get-together' game you endured?

  as a young teenager, we were always having get-togethers.... you know the spiritually upbuilding' kind ie.

  Hey, I remember a JW party as a kid where we performed a freakin' drama! Yes, it was Boaz and Ruth! We had rehearsed it for a few weeks beforehand, made costumes, all the trimmings!

  I played the uncle or some dude on the threshing floor. Can't remember now, maybe it was the guy So-and-so! Yes, thats it.

  (I'm glad I wasn't called So-and-so in a Star Trek episode and I had to beam down to the planet with Spock, Kirk, Scottie and McCoy!)

  When all's said and done, I guess the drama was a bit of fun! The girls in the silky costumes were pretty cool!

  there are so many on this forum, who have been inactive for quite a number of years, who haven't seen the inside of a kingdom hall in a long time, or have not seen hide or hair of their former brethren, still, they go online incognito, fearing they will be seen.

  i mean, if you've been gone that long, who cares, if someone recognizes you?

  WTS says you are free to do what we tell you

  the may 15 issue of the watchtower contains a discussion of the question: would it be advisable for a true christian to attend a funeral or a wedding in a church?.

  the tone of the wts view is set in the very first line our taking part in any form of false religion is displeasing to jehovah and must be avoided.

  nonetheless the last line of the article states whatever the situation, the christian should make sure that the decision will not interfere with his preserving a good conscience before god and men.. so apparently it's a personal decision for the jw as to whether he/she will attend a funeral in a church or not.

  1) Man of Constant Sorrow (from his first album!!)
  2) Solid Rock, a song from his "Gospel" period. It contains the lines

  >"Nations are angry, cursed are some,
  >People are expecting a false peace to come."

  Way to go Bob! Obviously the song prompted by the mid-East crisis.

  can anyone explain why some posts need to be scrolled to the right because they're too wide for the screen?

  It usually happens to me when there is an umbedded image (photo etc)in the message which seems to screw up the sizing of the text box.
