i did.. most of the elders were decent men but i'd say a third weren't the brightest bulbs in the sky..

We had one named Jose. He was the book study conductor and couldn't read to save his life. He also had no time management skills so we would never get through the required paragraphs. He had an awful memory too, couldn't remember what he ate for breakfast but he was supposed to tell you how to raise your kids, save your marraige, stay faithful blah blah blah. Had another one that went 25 minutes over his 15 minute KM part due to stuttering. Anyone with boy parts became an elder regardless of intellect, public speaking skills or leadership skills.

We did have two extremely intelligent and faithful elders. In the end they stepped down in their 80's and went home to wait to die. Both were discouraged and disgusted by what they saw in the KH.

I knew one servant who hanged himself in the woods. He suffered from depression and on top of the two of his children were disfellowshipped. One of them lived at home with him and the congregation blamed his disfellowshipped son living with him as the cause. Idiots.

i've seen the insulting obituary and like all of you, i'm blown away.. i've also seen several threads of individuals crying out for an opportunity to meet with others on this board.

maybe it's time to recognize the need for an assembly (if you will) to foster a familial relationship for those on this board!.

what if a memorial were planned, in eric's honor of course, for a weekend next september in north carolina?

SAD news about OOMPA......

our friend, oompa, has passed away.

just recieved the news a couple of hours ago, and have almost no details.

it happened today or yesterday, he took his own life.

Sorry to read about Oompa. I had a friend who committed suicide 15 years ago due to severe depression. I still think about him often and wish he were still here. I hope the JWs ho helped turn Oompa's world inside out feel remorse or some twinge of regret.

Anyone out there considering suicide, please get help. Your friends, family and any other people in your life never really will get over it and they'll always feel guilty for not having done enough.

Eric,

So greateful that you made and posted the video. People need to see the idiocy and blind devotion practiced by the elders. You managed to stay calm and use their own scriptures against them and still they tried to stonewall you by changing the subject or outright claiming that certain scriptures don't apply to your situation.

As for your ex wife's accusations, I kno how that feels. My ex husband lied to everyone in and around my old congreagation. They now shun my baptized mother because he told them that she still talks to me. It's a hateful judgemental cult and I thank whatever god there is that I got out.

Stay strong in your beliefs and be ready for when your children wake up and quit being slaves to the Watchtower.

well i figured i should give you all an update.

they will be dfing me soon for apostasy.

it is not a huge surprise and i am not afraid nor "shaking in my boots", however i will admit it is stressful right now.
