stage #1.. what if in a town that had a particularly large amount of apostates and ex-jw's, over a period of a few months, they started going to a small congregation.
either pretending they were bible studies or just returning jw's, they got good standing in the congregation, priveleges etc.

Wouldn't is just be easier to educate some local churches about how to avoid the typical JW memorizations and actually share the fact there is no salvation in in other name than Jesus?

It is a shame that after the long dark ages ended by the Reformation that so many would return to certain practices of the Catholic Church - the confessional.

Its been brought out many times on this board that there is enough information in the Human DNA to fill volumes of books stacked from the earth to the moon 500 times.
A while back a couple of Harvard boys figured out how to cram more than 700 terabytes of information into a gram of DNA.
As amazing as the DNA storage system is, it does not even begin to address the source of all the complex infromation. Information is the same regardless of whether it is stored in DNA, a hard Drive or text books.
For some strange reason there seems to be an abundance of naturalists on this board, in spite of these facts.

Ignorant statements like this one made by 19th century humorist Mark Twain are presented as support for a naturalist world-view. How long are Naturalist believers going to hang on to this failed ideology?

Why don't Born Again Christians include themselves as "Cults"?
by booker-t inwhen i see or hear born again christians calling mormons, jws, 7th day adventists, jews etc; cults i always have wondered is that not the pot calling the kettle black?
i just amazes me how so much in denial bacs(born again christians) are.
they love to condemn and throw stones at others but they will never, never, and i mean never label themselves as cults even though they have some of the weirdest beliefs.

All I know is what Christ has done and is doing for me....quite apart from my will power.
I have been born again since 2004. I experienced the new spirit described in the scriptures. I have done things and experienced things that would have previously been impossible for me. The born again experience is a very real event. It does not happen just because you attend some particular church or not. It is God who ratifies the NT contract with a believer, not some man who baptizes you or delivers sermons on Sunday morning. In any church, there will be a significate number of unsaved people attending - irregardless of their membership status.
The nature of the new birth is clear in scripture:
1 John 3: 8b & 9 - For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.
From God's point of view there are three "YOU'S". You have flesh and you are flesh. You are spirit and at the same time you have a spirit. You have a soul and you are a soul.
The Watchtower makes a big deal out of the phrase "Adam became a living soul", trying to make the argument that Adam was given a soul and was not a soul also. However, other scriptures contridict this materialist view and call "you" (or they) a soul. For example :
Rev. 6: 9 & 10 - I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain because of the word of God and the testimony they had maintained. 10 They called out in a loud voice, “How long, Sovereign Lord, holy and true, until you judge the inhabitants of the earth and avenge our blood?”
We use similar interchangableness of terms when talkng about our body. The two following statements still mean "you" even though the words are different:
1. She pinched my arm.
2. She pinched me.
Both statements mean "YOU".
A person can know that he is born again if he continues to keep God's commandmants AND if he has the internal withness of the Holy Spirit that bares witness with our spirit that we are the Children of God.
1 John 3: 24 And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us.
This is the work of God "not of man, lest anyone should boast". Eph. 2: 8,9
The born again person experiences a release of the "grip" of sin on his entire being because one of the "YOUs" that constitute his makup is already perfected ..... in this life.
With these ideas in mind Galatians 5 really comes alive:
"This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh."
17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.
18 But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.
19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,
20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
24 And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.

a 27-year old bethlehem man forced his way into a lehigh township home and allegedly threatened a woman, lehigh township police say.. saverio michael pasqualucci stopped at the home in the 900 block of south cottonwood road about 10:30 wednesday morning, knocked on the door and offered a pamphlet from the jehovah's witness church in nazareth, documents says.. when the woman inside the home said she wasn't interested, pasqualucci walked away but came back about 10 minutes later, saying, "hey aren't you going to let me in, i'm a friend and here to see your husband," records say.. the woman told pasqualucci to get off the property and said she was going to call police, according to records.. pasqualucci then forced his way into the home and made threatening statements to the woman, records say.. "i just got made, i'm here to do a hit," he told the woman, who was afraid she would be harmed and called police, records say.. the woman told police she was afraid pasqualucci was going to harm her by killing her, assaulting her or raping her, records say.. when lehigh township police arrived at the home, they spoke to pasqualucci, standing by a black ford truck, parked partially in the driveway, records say.. pasqualucci identified himself, provided his address and said he was at the home to see the woman's husband, whose name he did not know, records say.. pasqualucci was arraigned in front of district judge robert hawke on charges of burglary, criminal trespass, aggravated assault, simple assault, harassment and terroristic threats with the intent to terrorize another.. he is in northampton county prison in lieu of $50,000 bail and his preliminary hearing is scheduled for 9 a.m. april 11..

Need some advice...For my kids
by Jon Preston insince being out mentally and missing meetings my children mention people from the hall and i cant help but feel bad that they are missing the association.
my daughters are 4 and 2 and we live in a small town with not a whole lot to do.
what activities did you do with your kids?

My 7 & 8 Yr. old's schedule:
Monday - Friends come over from Church for a 8 week course on witnessing. Normally it's Basketball, little league, or soccer practice
Tuesday - Homework
Wednesday - Homework then AWANA at church with about 30 other kids their age.
Thursday - Homework
Friday - Family Movie Night
Saturday - Basketball, Little League, or Soccer game
Sunday - Church and total rest
