Yes, I it does! I must say that when I was first waking up I did find all my feelings a little confusing and the feeling of 'safety' in knowing you have all the answers is gone. The rug has been well and truly pulled out from under you. Now I feel much more freedom in realising I know nothing and this gives me the excitement of learning from scratch so to speak. I feel like a toddler that is just beginning to walk and explore the world. LOL There's so many different ways of looking at things and knowing you don't have to feel constrained into believing anything anymore... just go with the flow. If you feel uncomfortable with a belief, then just dump it and explore new avenues. There's no such thing as 'information control' anymore!

Yeah... I thought that too Oub... LOL But I reckon it might be good for those 'on the edge' so to speak, just in the process of waking up. Especially those who are feeling constricted and want to try a little bit of independent thinking.

Think the three things that affected me most over the years, were men landing on the moon when I was 11. It was a big thing in school and very exciting. The fall of the Berlin Wall and then more recently 9/11. Both shocking events.
I was also very moved by the 'Feed the World' campaign.
I also absolutely loved it when England won the Rugby World Cup in 2003.

Don't worry Sparrowdown and Oub... I'm not falling for anything. It's just that having to sit through something like this, even if only for 1 hour a month, makes it easier if it's kinder. Also, having said that, Ray Franz was a GB member for 10 years..... and he was genuine. If it wasn't for him many of us, me included would never have completely woken up. -

sir82 .. yes, I'm sure there is at least one person who has been like this there. For the last couple of years maybe I haven't noticed these softer articles.. Maybe it's possible that, like some of the more kindly elders, they either feel like they are fighting a losing battle and have left, or the hardliners have pushed them aside. -

I usually go on a Sunday, maybe once a month or so and I look at the WT article under discussion to see if I can stomach it before I go, a lot of the time I feel I just can't do it. However, I have noticed in the past that every so often there is an article I feel I can just about do it, generally kinder, more christian and less dogmatic. I was wondering if maybe there is at least one person there who is softer than the others, Also, I want to know which GB member is in charge? Any thoughts? -

I know a couple who've been married over 40 years, she's JW, he's catholic. Both very active in their respective religions. They make it work by respecting each other and allowing each other the freedom to worship in their own way, even though without the other. They make a point of socialising with each other's friends and as a result they are welcomed on both sides as a couple.. Unusual, I know but for them it works.
