  for you Muddy Waters i think you have earned them!

  One bad habit of having been a JW is that there was always so much to do. Always too busy to relax.Too much to prestudy. This has really effected my life and study habits. So take time , read the apostle pauls writings.Whatever gets you to just slow down read and think. I studied just John chapter 1 with my Interlinear bible vs the NWT and their kingdom interlinear and it blew me away.How wrong the NWT is and how dishonouring to Jesus the JW's are.

  Above all else just relax, breathe and enjoy your life and may the God of all comfort give you peace sister.

  Am only now discovering/reading the Apocrypha

  i was never a born-in jw, got baptized when i was 20 after being raised and belonging to a denomination of a protestant church.

  so i never even knew that there was a "catholic" bible or extra bible books (the authenticity of their belonging in the canon or not is a debatable issue, and one i certainly have no answers about it!).

  i knew through my study with jws that there were some "extra" books written, but since i believed everything the wt said hook, line, and sinker, i just went along with their explanation that they were not part of the bible canon.

  Good going Muddy Waters just by purchasing various translations of the Bible your progressing.

  I had always had a few different translations of the Bible but didnt really look at them much.When your blinded by the WTS light its hard to look beyond the NWT. You know i was viewed suspiciously for even owning other bibles by ex- mrs Azazel and actually accused by her for being a borderline apostate! At least DF me gave me the chance to start reading the bible free of their doctrines.

  The Bible i have really enjoed using for study is the "The Interlinear Bible"with stongs concordance numbers on each word. Ive been just studying the book of John and its been an eye opening experience for me. The NWT is a poor if not deceitful translation. You need to see that for yourself.Im still going with pulling the WTS doctrine apart piece by piece, deprograming myself if you like.

  Closing down of all non-native congregations in The Netherlands

  this weekend serious sources told me that in the netherlands the society is closing down all non-native congregations.

  because of the mixed population of this country, there are >100 non-native congregations like english, france, dutch-caribian, arab, chinese, italian, russian, spanish etc.. my source was backing the dissision of the society because "these non-native congregations are islands on their own, with group-thinking and not allways listening to the society..." and concluded "these non-natives has to learn dutch instead of we are learning their language".. strange: some years ago many jw's learned a foreign language (like arab or chinese!

  ) and now they are all closing down.

  Here in Australia some years ago the Potugese congregations as a whole were shutdown and many elders removed.

  I never got a definite reason why but a ex-member of one of the Potugesse congs said their was infighting between elder bodies.

  Maybe they in Holland want more dutch speaking publishers . Some foreign language groups/congs are great fun to associate with.

  my mother had this arrangement.

  what it actually accomplished was isolating her from the cong.

  as she was 89 she didn't drive at night.

  I was previewing the March 15th, 2012 Watchtower...

  ironically, the first study article is titled "help people to awake from sleep".... ah, the utter cluelessness..... the first thing i thought when i saw the article was, "jehovah's witnesses have been disturbing people far too early in the mornings all this time, and now they've written an article boasting about it and encouraging yet more of such irritating behavior!!".

  of course, the article starts out clucking its [their collective] tongue over the fact that some 5,000 people die each year as a result of falling asleep at the wheel of a vehicle - typical "gloom-and-doom" posturing to create feelings of worry and fear in the congregation members.. "every year, thousands die because they get drowsy or even fall asleep while driving a motor vehicle.

  others lose their jobs because they do not wake up in time to go to work or because they fall asleep on the job.

  JW Cable TV Installer Counts His Time.. Home owner very pissed off !

  the directv guy came by today to install our new dvr.

  a pretty simple install as i already installed the telephone line, and the amp/switch box is about 5 feet below where the extra line needs to run.. .

  so all the installer needs to do is give us the new dvr receiver, run one coax line, plug it all in and leave.. .

  Im so sorry for you having that bad experience.

  i would have asked Do JW have paid Clergy? When he of course answers No . Tell him he's getting paid to work so enough of the religious BS.

  Back when i was a JW

  When i have worked in similar industry i made a point of never instigating a religious conversation and never having the last word on it either.

  No problemo.

  Remember one old dude who had Watchtower n Awakes in a pile behind his front door ,it was a few metres tall! said they had been bringing him mags for the last 30 years and he had never even opened or read them. I just laughed and said you can turn them into pulp for his garden.

  Glad you complained the nob head deserves it!
