i samuel 17:54 - "and david took the head of the philistine and brought it to jerusalem".
why did david do this, especially when the city of jerusalem was over 20 miles away and also under jebusite control at the time?.
VM44: I was wondering whether to press the delete button on the off topic posts but let's hope the children stay away now, eh?
You get whores drinking too much over your way, eh?
Things must be different on top of the world!
cheers, Ozzie (underneath youse lot class)
monring all,.
i have decided to go back to basics and just read the bible alone, trying to eliminate wt influence from my mind as i read.
it's amazing what you see in the scriptures when you just look at the scriptures.. can anyone shed some light on the following - in particular verse 13:.
G'day S-8,
Just popping in to your thread to offer a very belated welcome aboard.
Love your name! Ahhh, those S 8's!! I remember them well.
Cheers from downunder,
Ozzie
if you make friends here, keep posting here and keep following the forum for a while, you might reach 10,000 posts.
i've found this place a really good outlet and place to learn and share for quite a while.
the number of posts doesn't really matter... but the freedom to speak one's mind and to perhaps share ideas that might help others get past the jw experience .. that does matter!.
So what kept you?
Glad you decided to go-pher it and stick around.
keep on posting, mate!
Cheers, ozzie
i got an email from her daughter lisa this morning regarding "queenie", who used to post on this forum as well as others, such as my yahoo groups.
many of you long timers on this forum probably remember queenie.
she had multiple health problems and took a turn for the worse last month after a fall and died yesterday.
My condolences from downunder.
Ozzie
hi all, i logged off jwd for a few hours and have just come back.
wasn't there a thread here about a 'kicker email' by a disfellowman or jason999 or something?
it's gone or moved or whatever and my inbox says i have an unread message when there isn't one.
whitman:
The final post by this person read (in part):
whitman knows how to get in contact with me, not that it matters. i hate using a proxy so i wont be coming back, and violating MORE rules. i have been deceptive and evasive since the beginning,
I think this had a misguided reference to the use of pms to him?
Anyway, an end to this now.

It was our daily dose of madness which we've sent to the laundry. We get them from time to time - you'll get used to it, I hope. We do.
It takes all sorts, eh?
so many of us have suffered so much here in our experience with the watchtower cult and at the hands of others.
this afternoon's segment of npr's this i believe reminds us of the liberating power of forgiveness.
i heard it on the drive home and wanted to share it here with you.
G'day dinah,
I certainly don't mean to argue the rights and wrongs of 'that war' (although i do have strong opinions); nonetheless, I was interested in this:
No, those children had brothers and sisters and mothers and fathers and they HATE US
You see, i guess you may have found this when you were there - you were there, weren't you???
But for Mrs Ozzie and I, we view the country in question (Viet Nam) as our second home and we have close ties there. One thing that we have seen and experienced is the exact opposite of what you report i.e. the lack of hate for us that the local population displays. I find them the most forgiving of nations.
I'm sorry you haven't experienced that.
Cheers,
Ozzie

dinah;
Is there meant to be a 'moral'?
We read, we learn, we resolve to act better.
It's simple really.
Burn has alerted us to 'man's inhumanity to man'.
Cheers from downunder,
Ozzie
