JW involved in Maddie's kidnapping?
by behemot inhttp://www.thisislondon.co.uk/news/article-23422086-details/murat's+lover:+'i+was+at+jehovah's+witness+meeting+when+madeleine+was+snatched'/article.do.
strange story though: this witness lady shares a flat with her "estranged husband" and has a "lover"???.
anybody knows about her current status?.

I dont understand the hate...
by JamesWind ini grew up as a jehovah's witness.
my mother was uneducated and so we moved every 2-4 years as she tried to find stable enough work to support a child so ive attended many kingdom halls and have known many witnesses and many elders.
i've never gone back to the witness organization and never will.

besty:
You said that you had difficulty developing social skills which has had an ongoing effect throughout your life, yet you also said that you had maintained contact with hundreds of JW's over an extended period. I'm unclear about which of these statements is the most accurate - perhaps you can expand on that for me?
See my post above.

V, I have nothing to square with you or anybody else about this, and I didn't suggest that you were guilty of having a hidden agenda: I merely stated it as a matter of experience, with the intent of possibly informing new members as to why the IP addressess were initiated in the first place, and what JWD policy is regarding having multiple accounts.
Ona: You're quite right, of course.
I know you were formerly a moderator and you just needed to share your experience with us.
Was that necessary?
Actually the alias "WT Comments" is a collaborative identity. You can square that with Blondie, elsewhere, and Simon if you wish.
Huh? Since when? I've closed it for breaking forum rules.

This is absurd!!!!!!!!!!!
by oldflame inthis is so bad people, why are we sitting on our arses and doing nothing about things like this.
this young man gave his life, he will probably never have a wife and family for the rest of his life and this is how they are treated ?
this administration should be ashamed of themselves and i mean down right on their knees ashamed.

We had similar experiences downunder following the vietnam War. It's taken years (decades) to finallt see the vets get the recognition that's rightly due to men (and women) who've sacrificed much of their lives in service of their country for a cause, unpopular though it was.

This is how wrongful disfellowshippings happen
by AnneB inre: http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/12/146760/1.ashx.
did it ever occur to any of you that blakeseeley and carlhernz could be separate people posting from the same computer?
if they are then it follows that their vocabularies and writing styles may be similar; if one is a journalist (even part-time) perhaps the other is as well.. it could be that one is visiting the other; carlhernz said that blakeseeley was in florida at present but would be returning to texas soon.. why not step back, take a few deep breaths...and unlock that thread?.

To Angharad:
What about the OTHER TWO accounts that are using this IP address that have very similar usernames AND emails addresses?
Who knew? That wasn't public information at the time of my writing.
To Simon, a simple if then statement:
The combination of technical things not making sense PLUS a story with more holes in it than an episode of Dallas and requests for people to send personal information = someone up to no good.
If this is the case then it really is the end of the story.

Ever had two kids arguing and you've told them your decision is final and one of them still wants the last word?

Yes, It's Been Awhile, How Have You All Been?
by RAYZORBLADE ingreetings my fellow jwd posters.
yes, it's been quite some time since i've graced the on-line pages here.. i think like many people, you get in here "hot & heavy" so-to-speak, and then after awhile, you either grow tired of it; frustrated and well, peoples' reasons to leave or 'take a break' are as long as a roll of charmin (not great for writing on mind you).. quite frankly, i didn't think i'd find myself posting here.
but after a couple of years; the occasional browsing of topics and to see how a few members were doing, i don't mind opening up the door once again periodically and add my two cents worth.. there looks to be many newbies, hell.....i don't even recognize 1/10th of the people posting on here.

A matter of blood
by ozziepost intalking to a friend, an anaesthestist at one of our major hospitals, the other day and we got talking about knee sugery.
so many people these days display the limp of people who are clearly suffering some malfunction of their knees.
for many of our generation the effects of a sporting life (look at how many females who were netballers (basketballers) are needing knee reconstructive surgery) has left its mark.. anyway, i asked him about the matter of blood loss in knee surgery with the question: "is blood needed in knee replacement surgery?

Talking to a friend, an anaesthestist at one of our major hospitals, the other day and we got talking about knee sugery. So many people these days display the limp of people who are clearly suffering some malfunction of their knees. For many of our generation the effects of a sporting life (look at how many females who were netballers (basketballers) are needing knee reconstructive surgery) has left its mark.
Anyway, I asked him about the matter of blood loss in knee surgery with the question: "Is blood needed in knee replacement surgery?"
"Oh yes!", was his reply, "always!".
He then described the procedure that they adopted of recirculating the patient's own blood, or more accurately the collection, filtering, and infusing of the patient's blood back into the body.
This got me thinking about how this affected the Dubs. Surely they too have many who require knee surgery and given the medical protocol described by my friend, it seems that they face an issue of whether to accept blood in surgery or if not, then no surgery.
Is this the case? Can Dubs accept transfused blood that is their own blood? If not, then how do they get their knees fixed?
