  Cooking With Cast Iron

  i can't even remember what got me interested in pans, probably wanting to try cooking more and watching some cooking videos on youtube, but i kind of started wanting to get a cast-iron skillet specifically so started reading up on them.

  hey, if you're going to spend $50 on something you need to study them and create a comparison spreadsheet ... right?.

  not only did cast-iron look great for cooking but there are some studies that show risks to aluminium / teflon cookware ... not that the wts was "right" about aluminium, but teflon can give off carcinogenic chemicals if overheated (so what if it chips off into your food?).

  My last move, I had to give up cooking on gas and had to switch to an electric stove....... I hate it.....Magwitch

  LOL!!..Me too..

  Nothing like gas..Electric is slow to react to temperature adjustment..

  I love cast iron..

  Got some stainless steel..

  Some non-stick..

  I lost my cast iron in the midst of moving...Ahhhhhhh!..

  Keep them seasoned and you have a great frying pan..

  You can do other things besides cook with them..

  Bear in the yard?.....Bang a metal cup on the frying pan..

  Cat`s on the kitchen counter? ..

  Give-em one upside the head with the frying pan..PONG!..

  i think if we are to fully delight in life we must live without detachment.

  because when we become attached to a beliief we feel a desire that we are right.

  the problem with being right, even if we are right is that our beliefs then try to attach themselfs to virgin snow, and change people to our thinking.

  on january 16, 2017, jehovah’s witnesses in russia will again seek to counter the decade-long tightening of restrictions on their religious freedom.

  Is this a normal JW practice? Warning, this will be a bit graphic.

  this post may be disturbing and i apologize, but i'm just trying to find out if this is a practice the jw teaches.

  i was taken advantage of by a guy claiming to be a jw preacher.

  he took me to his house supposedly so i could give his daughter piano lessons, and then he basically forced himself on me while telling me he was in love with me and wanted to marry me.

  All About The Words We Used

  in the time since i've left the borg behind i've had a few things hit me as to how words were used.

  i'm wondering if anyone else has some similar examples, but here are some things that have made me think:.

  watchtower - my whole life i saw this as a thing of protection from outside evil forces, and then when i left someone pointed out "isn't that what they used to keep people in prison".

  How do you categorise the Society - Cult or High control religion

  I think watchtower has done a good job desensitizing their members to the word 'cult'.

  Absolutely..

  I have no problem telling JW`s their religion is a cult..

  I`ve done it many times,I get the same response..
