  What is the current suicide and mental illness rate among JWs and previous members

  there seems to be no current data on this information and there is questions concerning the validation of past data.

  apparently there is high rate of mental illness and suicide.

  jehovahs witnesses suicide rate 5 to 10 times above average.

  The study I posted was made by a Witness by the name of Rolf Furuli. He does have academic credentials as he was a lecturer in Semitic languages at the University of Oslo until 2011. He makes the point that it is not easy to make a balanced scholarly study of the mental health of Jehovah's Witnesses.....Earnest

  What a fader can say to a sleepy witness?

  i have a question.

  yesterday while the wife and i were hitting garage sales we seen a house selling tools.

  this house happened to be a witness couple getting rid of some old stuff.

  We go to the house and talk to the couple who are long time friends. All these people can talk about it how hard life is and that they are "just barely hanging on.

  I find it amazing that this family really has it made. He has a great job, a beautiful home in a fantastic neighborhood. Yet they are visibly miserable.

  What do you say to try to cheer up these sleepy culties?

  i came across this weird blog that castigates fading jws for their "cowardice" and "hypocrisy" for not making themselves vulnerable to shunning.

  apparently in the view of this blogger jws who discover it's not the truth are morally obliged to play by the watchtower rules and face the consequences of shunning.. http://jwresearchblog.blogspot.co.uk/2015/06/fading-faking-and-lying-as-unbelieving.html#comment-form.

  what is absent from the blog post is any discussion of the statement in the july 2009 awake!, that no one should be made to choose between their beliefs and their family.
