  Outlaw, can't you see I that was deliberately humiliating him? It is pretty hard not to win with 2 queens. It is impossible not to win with 5 or six. I was laughing so hard when the game was a draw.

  If you can`t beat an opponent with 5 or 6 Queens..

  He`s not the one who should be humiliated..

  Many years ago I played chess with a weaker opponent, and in the end game I had 5 or 6 queens on the board.( I do not remember exactly how many) Anyway, you should have seen the smile on his face when the game ended in stalemate. But during the game and before the promotions of so many pawns, I found it necessary to move my knight to another square when I saw it was in danger. After making the move, I remarked "The knight retreats." He responded by exclaiming: "The knight doesn't retreat. It roams the board! I thought to myself: "What a brilliant observation!"

  I had never saw it that way before and my view of the knight in a chess game changed forever.....Fisherman

  Disfellowshipped for celebrating Xmas?

  i could really do with some advice on what's acceptable when you leave.

  we have left of our own accord about 6 months ago.

  we didn't celebrate xmas this year but have just celebrated my daughters birthday.. a friend of mine who is still a witness told me that an elder had approached her and asked if we had celebrated xmas and that if we did it was a df offence as is classed as apostasy!

  Next steps for the Austrailian Royal Commission

  since the watchtowers' lawyers have (a) failed to make any recommendations to the arc that would bring the watchtower up to date with "best practices and procedures" (b) have failed to submit a proposal for victim restitution (c) have failed to secure funding for a redress scheme and (d) have completely dismissed all the arcs' findings - what's the royal commission's next course of action?.

  i see two possibilities:.

  ) negotiate a settlement with the watchtower.

  If you went back in time, would you be a god?

  we just finished watching outlander which is about a woman who goes back in time ~200 years from the end of wwii.

  she ends up in the scottish highlands in the middle of the jacobite uprising.

  it's a great show although the last episodes were a little graphic (they make game of thrones seem like sesame street).. but it got me thinking ... if you went back in time would you in fact be the 'god' you may imagine because of your knowledge of modern technology and the future?.
