  President not on governing body

  been out since about 1999. i was surprised to just read that the current president (adams) is not on the governing body.

  what happened there?.

  obviously prior to that the president was in charge not just of the adminstration but also seemed to be heavily involved in defining doctrine.. the president seems to have really taken a back seat.. i know this must be old news, but just showed how much i am out of touch.

  i thought about this after reading incognito's thread.

  i was wondering if anyone here has any idea what the president of the wt actually does or if he truly has any real power, or if he is merely the gb puppet..

  Is taking a blood transfusion a "Disfellowshipping or Disassoication" offense?

  i remember back in the day when i was a devout jw in the 90s elders would go to the hospital to try and see if a person took a blood transfusion.

  i remember my cousin was having surgery after a severe car accident and if he did not take blood the doctor said he would have died.

  the elder came to the hospital and badgered my cousin's wife until she told him my cousin did get some blood.

  im just thinking outloud and, of course, you are welcome to think aloud with me.. (1) there are the metrics used in the yearbook totals.

  the average publisher count measures only those who reported time.

  likely, most of those who attend the memorial are those inactive or somehow associated in some way, shape, or form.. (2) there is meeting attendance.

  I wonder if the new rules of counting time will make a bump in the number of ‘hours’ and how active JWs are measured.

  It would make sense for this to be announced around 9/1...it being the new "service year" and all.
