question: Pinky rink, the ring i have seen on alot of the GB resembles a Masionic ring
by goingthruthemotions ini get infuriated when i see the god's (guardians of doctrine) sporting pinky rings or rings on there right hands.
like a club association.
when i try and take a look at the ring it resembles a masionic ring.

In the Watchtower view, they would all be labelled "apostates". -

Reading the Bible in 6 months isn't "anything to brag about" - Anthony Morris
by mac n cheese inthe 2015 annual meeting, specifically, part 1, right about minute 27, has anthony morris emphasizing that "you're better off reading one chapter (of the bible) and really absorbing it" than just reading the whole thing "as a challenge".
while i agree with the the whole idea of meditating on anything you read, it was doing this very thing that brought up so many unanswered questions.
i also came to the constant realization that the jws did not have a clue about what the bible really said.

As a JW, I was amazed how many JWs had never read the Bible cover to cover. How can people purport to be an expert (at least relative to the people they are supposed to be educating) on a book they've never read? -

In the JW mindset, the 'new light' on the 'greater fulfillment' of the Babylonian Exile' starting in the 2nd century makes more sense than a 3 or 4 year exile starting in 1914.
The magic year 1919 is mention everywhere! It seems more important in their mind than even 1914.
Being out, it's amazing how collectively narcissistic it all is. Everything that's in the Bible is all about them!

Are you truly happy?
by onightdivine infor the lurkers and active jws here, are you really happy about the recent changes?.
are you happy where you are now?.
does it make you feel special that you are more "privileged" than non-jws or other jws who have less preaching hours than you do?.

Even as a JW, when they changed the songbook...even before that...I tended to go all 'Manila Vanilla' during the songs. -

I believe I've used the term 'midweek meeting' in the past to describe the...midweek meeting.
With more congregations being packed into a single building, some have to meet Saturday. I know this has happened in my area. Therefore I think this precipitates the change to 'Weekend Meeting'.

That still counts as a fade. Congrats!
I remember the last weeks at the meetings. What struck me the most was how critical it was of everyone not a JW. It was basically hate speech.

Did Ray Franz manage to live out a comfortable retirement from the proceeds of his books.
by joe134cd ini'm just curious if anybody knows.
firstly i don't take issue with the man making money from his books and if he was able to live comfortably from it then i say power to him.
but what i'm wanting to know was just how successful was it and did it allow him to live out the remainder of his years in comfort e.g buy a house, eat good food etc.
