so, back when you were still in, or even now (for those still in), how do you respond when the elders ask to speak with you in the back room?
If possible:
(1) Screen your calls.
(2) If you get certified mail, find out where it is from first, before accepting or declining.
(3) Look through the window or peephole if the doorbell rings or there is a knock.
From my understanding, they have to establish contact (by talking to you on the phone, having you sign for certified mail, or in person) in order to take any action.
so after nearly 15 to 19 years of not attending a convention, i can't recall exactly, i went to one last year.
the brother giving the talk was from bethel and was introduced as a helper of the governing body.
it was a title i never heard of before.
in the long winter nights you need some good tv shows to watch while you wait for the eternity between seasons of game of thrones.. we've watched marco polo (pretty good) and have just started watching orange is the new black which is not at all what i imagined (didn't know it was funny!).
house of cards is on the list too as we've heard good things about that.. anyone have any others that are worth seeing?.
there are a few things i picked up from watchtowerism that i still find value in.
(although, i could have easily picked them up elsewhere.).
one of these is the 30-day test to abstain from all booze.. .

i don't really know how to describe the feeling but i'll give examples, but the new layout to me makes it feel tiring being on for too long.
1. there is the top menu, then a big add between that and the next part, a big ad between the bottom and where you reply, then on the right column you either have 2 ads on top or some type of summary, then ad, then either related posts or other areas.
there are no borders, the adds have the same color and text type but larger font, and it all seems chaotically merged into one thing where you need to constantly sort out what you are viewing.
I think the great thing about the old layout was one line per topic.
I do wonder also if there is a need for the Suggested Topic section. It feels like the page is split in two.

but i have never been to one that didn't have windows.
is this only in a certain area or something?.
I've been in Kingdom Halls where there were windows (older ones), and some that did not (newer). There are many Kingdom Halls with no windows, but this is not universal.
Evidently, with the LDC, the window situation is going to change.
