the articles are definately an interesting read.
they give plenty of bad advise as usual.
Because they can only marry within the cult, selection is limited. This leads to incompatible marriages.
Also the qualities looked for in a mate are primarily field service hours and organizational status.
These things do not a good marriage mate make.
since a previous thread is getting comments that this guy may become a new gb member, the topic above is worth pursuing.

as you've probably guessed, i'm interested in almost everything.. whether that is good or bad, i dunno.. but, recently i started researching ways of defending myself against bad actors.

even though i live in texas--i just have no comfort at all about the conceal carry handgun scenario for myself.. i've explored alternate scenarios.. i purchased a rather wicked folding pocket knife, but--i kept thinking to myself how i didn't really want to bleed somebody.

i wonder how many of these are "anointed"?
all the current seven gb members were helpers first and then appointed to be gb members.
If the rumor is true that there will be new light that means appointment to the GB will mean automatically being anointed, it won’t matter.
And if the rumor is also true that they will make the GB number 12, it wouldn't be suprising if they are grooming Malenfant, since they showcased him on the first video on Dub TV.
i know this is a long post, but it seems to me that the watchtower society has pretty much got every single item covered.. bite = behavior, information, thought, emotion.

Reading Combatting Cult Mind Control was very eye opening. Before that, I was awakening to the fact that the JW theology was ill founded, but I believe I denied on this forum that JWs were a cult and that anything like mind control was employed. Once I understood what a cult was (a high control group), and what mind control was (undue influence/extreme peer pressure), and read the experiences of other like groups, it all made sense.

When I was a ministerial servant, I never liked “taking the lead”. Especially when I’d to direct men and women several decades older than me in field service. It felt very unnatural.
The Watchtower claims “apostates” are envious of people having positions and want to take the lead. But what I’ve found is that is the rhetoric of all authoritarian groups, not just the Watchtower.

ok so me and my husband were talking to his mum again about why we are no longer going to meetings and got into another pointless discussion where she feels he needs to talk to an elder about his issue's blah, blah, blah... round and round it went...... the thing i wanted to ask was if anybody had heard that there wont be any gb after these one's die??
this is something she mentioned today and we have never heard of this ever.
so it means no more will be appointed and they will just die off!
I've heard they are increasing the number to 12.
