Can a slingshot hit harder than a handgun? (Self-defense research oddities)

As you've probably guessed, I'm interested in almost everything.

Whether that is good or bad, I dunno.

But, recently I started researching ways of defending myself against bad actors. (No, not Keanu Reeves.)

Even though I live in Texas--I just have no comfort at all about the conceal carry handgun scenario for myself.

    I've explored alternate scenarios.

I purchased a rather wicked folding pocket knife, but--I kept thinking to myself how I didn't really want to bleed somebody. I really only want

    to scare them off.

But--if they are packin' heat, well . . . you know the old saying: "Don't bring a knife to a gunfight."

Eventually, I happened on to the most innocent idea of all: the slingshot!

    I found this fascinating.

    Tell me what you think.

My tradeoff has come down to buying a $7 slingshot on Amazon and using rubber balls!! (3/8 in).

I think I could strongly discourage Keanu from further incursions with that one.

If you start sporting a slingshot, we will have to call you Denniss the Menace...or Bart Simpson.

I'm working on a fast draw holder for the slingshot.

It all sounds so silly and absurd, I can't see a jury of twelve indicting me.

    Terry that's awesome.

    I'm sold.

Good luck with the holster - post a photo when you have it.
