Post Modernism does not allow for individuals. It mandates everyone be put into a group. Narrative is a group's attempt for control.

Canada: Jehovah’s Witnesses challenge constitutionality of B.C. privacy law

I always thought it was interesting that the Watchtower always sang praises of itself because Jehovah's Witnesses have no clergy and lay classes. That is until there is interaction with the government. Then in low tones you will here it whispered that, for government purposes, elders are the clergy and have clergy privilege under the law.

What police have to deal with
by LoveUniHateExams inso, the actions of cops have come under scrutiny in recent days, what with the trial of derek chauvin and the death of daunte wright.
i certainly hope justice is served in both those cases.. what is easy for people to forget, is just what police officers have to deal with on a regular basis, during their interactions with citizens.. here's a video breaking down one such interaction.. a car owner was driving his car but the tags weren't legally displayed.
cops wanted him to pull over but the driver continued driving for a mile and a half with a police car following with sirens and lights.

...there are a thousand traffic cameras that send citations all day every day.
Citations issued from traffic camera footage are not the same. That is why Red Light Cameras are being dismantled across America as they have been found to 1) are being used to fine people for a city's municipal code violation, not the State's traffic law, with the only penalty for not complying is being barred from re-registering your vehicle and 2) there are Constitutional issues with the whole scheme.
When the violator fails to appear in court or pay the fine that citation results in an Arrest Warrant being issued. I have yet to see a traffic camera show up at someone's doorstep to arrest someone for Failure to Appear.

A Day in the Life of a Police Officer in America - A Play
Police Officer: Sir, you're vehicle's expiration has expired. Please sign this citation stating you promise to appear before the court to answer the allegation of the offense in lieu of being arrested in placed in jail.
Driver: No. I did nothing wrong.
Police Officer: Sir, is their anything I can say or do to get you to sign this citation so I can release you on your own recognizance, that is to say, without paying bail?
Driver: No.
Police Officer: Sir, step out of the car. You are under arrest.
Driver: No. I am not being arrested. I did nothing wrong.
Police Officer: <Opens drivers door and places hand on driver to affect the physical arrest>
Driver: <Resists arrest and assaults officer to prevent arrest>
Police Officer: <Increases use of force to affect the arrest of the driver who is now committing the offenses of Resisting Arrest and Assault on a Police Officer>
Driver: <Starts vehicle, begins driving while dragging the police officer to his impending death>
Police Officer: <Affects the arrest of the driver for the offense of attempted Capitol Murder of a Police Officer by shooting and killing the driver>
Fringes of Society: That police officer just murdered that driver over an expired registration!
The End.
Everyone takes a bow. Showtimes daily.

Hindus admit bad was created by God. Good cannot exist without the bad. Evil is a Judeo-Christina concept.

The choice of being alone has never been clearer.
by pistolpete insomething i've noticed is that marriage was the thing for those born before 2010. but today's culture of divorce laws slanted to favor women has forced men to think carefully before signing the marriage certificate.
most of my friends have no intentions of getting married.
all of them have gotten vasectomies, so there is no chance of being blamed for a pregnancy.

I watched the video in the original post. The video creator starts out on a good foot -
- Happiness comes from within
- Happiness does not come from someone else
This is true. Happiness is an internal experience. We suffer from a lack of happiness when we believe that some person, some job, some hobby, some experience is going to fulfill us.
That being said, the video creator contradicts himself by stating that happiness comes from friends and hobbies.
The video creator is also correct in that a person has to make sacrifices when entering a committed relationship. Well, that is the definition of love - sacrifice of self for the other's benefit. I think that is where modern society starts to see trouble. I think we have to look at human history and the history of major to kind of get our bearings.
About 150,000 years ago modern human appeared on Earth. Humans were a hunter/gatherer society. It was an egalitarian society in that both men and women were equal. Both men and woman hunted and gathered food to survive.
Things changed when human turned into an agrarian society. This is where sperate roles for men and women first developed and then eventually came patriarchy. Men having natural upper body strength cultivated the earth while women bore children and handled the home. Add to that religion, primarily Abrahamic religions, and now the patriarchy is in full effect. It was acceptable for men to have multiple wives simultaneously. However, this produced 2 problems - 1) inheritance disputes and 2) violence due to women being treated as a resource and men with multiple wives being viewed as targets for men with none. So, that became no longer acceptable.
Marriage was about ensuring there was a male heir to inherit a man's estate. Women were not allowed to own property. Additionally, marriages where used to increase a families wealth or expand royalty's kingdom. The problem was there was often no romance in this arrangement and infidelity was the only way to satisfy that desire. Sex outside of marriage was prohibited by religion and sometimes even by law.
Then in the mid-18th century Europe we got the Romance Movement. This movement was seen in art, music, and literature. The ideology of Romance is that we all have that one special person out their that can satisfy every role and vice versa. Marrying for love was introduced and adopted. The problem is that romance is not love and the myth the Romance Movement produced skews reality.
Now jump forward to the mid to late 20th century. We got the women's liberation movement. Women realized that, like their ancestors, they aren't below men and do not need men. In addition, we as a race moved into a period of enlightenment and rationality. Religion and a fear of eternal damnation were no longer an issue. People accepted sex outside of marriage. Relationships were no longer about starting families (i.e. having children). Being married and not having children is widely accepted.
Laws involving marriage were adopted to support families and not marriage. Tax credits, employer provided insurance for spouse and children are just some examples of such laws. Then came divorce laws.
Divorce started becoming normalized is the latter quarter of the 20th century. Society was still looking through the lens of antiquated philosophies such as women cannot earn a living like men, a woman's place is in the home, and women are better suited for child rearing. So we got child support laws and alimony.
So, here we are in the first half of the 21st century. Does the legal institution of marriage make sense?
I like marriage. I love my wife. I like being a father and look forward to being a grandfather. I know that I am most content when spending my time doing things with my wife and children. I used to think my career would make me happy. I learned that is not true almost too late.

Correct but mankind needs science and knowledge to help us on a path toward a better living experience.
One can still appreciate the ideology of what Buddhism represents though . - Rocketman123Well said! Take a look at the studies showing that neuroscience is proving what Buddhism already realized 400 years before the alleged birth of Jesus. Buddhism is considered the first rational ideology in human history.

Nietzsche penned in the mid 1800s that rationality killed God. He also wrote that it would cause 2 pathologies, both of which we are seeing the full effect today (utopianism through totalitarian government and nihilism). The human brain is wired for religion. Even antitheism using science has a crutch is a form of religion because it requires belief (e.g. "The supernatural is not real. I do not know what caused this event, but I am sure (i.e. I believe, I have faith) science one day will explain it away.")
I find the story posted sad. I practice Buddhism. Buddhism is not a religion. Siddhartha Gautama, the first Buddha ("Enlightened One") never claimed to be a god and refused to speak about whether gods exist or not. What this monk did is not part of Buddhism. Buddhism is about ending human suffering. Buddhism is acknowledging the only person who can save us is our self.

Over population
by mickbobcat inso i see some very counter intuitive videos on how there is no over population issue.
that the world will grow to about 11 billion and stop.
well that would be the first time in human history that population just stopped.
